This arrived today, haven't watched it yet (this weekend). I remember having my mind blown by the Blu-Ray so this should take it up a notch. I'm seeing a lot of reviewers saying this is in the top 5 of 4K UHD titles for quality. I am a sucker for old films in 4K, the Hitchcock box set was amazing, especially Vertigo which had a surreal, time machine like quality to the image. In your opinion, what other 4K UHD titles would you put in this category? Chances are I already have them but I am curious what you guys think...

i have this on regular bluray but i've funny enough have never gotten around to watch this but i bought it on 4K today so i can finally get off my ass to watch it, i've got a long ass list of movies to watch before i stick this one in though.

i put all my dvd's and bluray's that i haven't watched yet into some boxes and i've been going through them as i watch them.

Ro the layman, I think the difference between 4K and HD won't appear that striking but on 4K the costumes shine and you see some sheen and radiance brought on to the frame by HDR/WCG.

Amazon is apparently trying to compete with USPS for inept customer service.
I preordered The Ten Commandments 4k January 25 and received a message that
I would be receiving it April 21. I just cancelled the order then reordered it and will
receive it tomorrow, free shipping with Amazon Prime. It just doesn't make any sense.

I think there was some kind of glitch with this item. I was in the same boat where I pre-ordered a long time ago and my estimated delivery date was like May 5 or something ridiculous yesterday. And then last night they shipped my copy.

I couldn't disagree more with the poster that this is a "minor upgrade" or is "not worth upgrading from Blu-Ray". We have no idea how people are viewing this in terms of their TV and equipment so all I can wonder is if the poster needs to upgrade his display and/or have it calibrated it properly if he thinks the two are on the same level.

On a proper Dolby Vision equipped TV this yields big benefits in terms of color and brightness reproduction. IMO it's every bit as good as the reviews indicate, and takes full advantage of the potential of UHD for catalog films when restored in this manner. The Blu-Ray was and is excellent, but this is even better.

Yes, some people aren't able to redeem their copies on Vudu. It's account specific and doesn't affect everyone. It is not known why it is happening to some accounts and not others. Getting another digital copy won't help either. You can contact Vudu CS to see if they can help or make a post in the Vudu forums as that seems to get better luck than emailing or calling. Also, there is already a post about this there and suggest you comment there if you do decide to that.

I've never actually watched The Ten Commandments before. I know, shame on me. I'm glad that will be remedied via what looks like the definitive release on the definitive format. My copy is out for delivery. I'm off on Friday so that'll be the perfect time to take it all in.

It goes well for a single sitting IMHO. The intermission is in the perfect spot for a break if you need one, too.

As I mentioned before, Yul is one of the main reasons to watch this. He has some of the best line deliveries of the movie. Of course, I keep seeing him as the creepy, murderous Gunslinger from Westworld... the first Terminator!
