There's a reason you're on my ignore, too. You are one of the rudest posters currently on this forum, and you continue to antagonize and mock those of us that actually care about these releases. Not just this thread, either - you were just as rude to me on the Friday the 13th thread. You need to learn how to talk to other members without being insulting and condescending. I haven't been following this debate so it's not for me to say who's in the right or whatever, but I always thought BillieCassin seemed pretty chill? Kiss and make up.

I wouldn't call his last post chill. Why did he lash out at me like that? Did I attack him? He unfairly said I rant and rave in every thread which is a complete lie and a personal attack. He's been incredibly rude to me for well over a year at least, if not longer. He drove me out of the Friday the 13th thread with his attacks and rude insults. I always try to be civil but this guy has a personal thing against me and I have no idea why. He hated that I was discussing the multiple issues in the Friday the 13th thread (which had 3 replacement discs due to various errors).

I tried watching the 2013 transfer last night and I couldn’t get through it—it’s so dull and washed out looking. A couple nights ago I watched the 2007 disc, bearing in mind that so many people think it’s too bright, the colors too saturated, etc. My TV is newly calibrated so everything is looking as it should, and with those settings only the 2007 transfer seems right. I can’t wait to see what they came up with for this new disc, though. I’m so excited about it!

Off topic for a moment, I hope they get the color timing right this time.

Whilst I never owned the 2013 Blu or the original 4K (only have had the THX DVD, since sold, and the 2007 Blu), I can tell they just looked too colorless for my tastes judging from screenshots and reviews, like they were restored from a faded print, although I will admit I did like the night time scenes in those transfers better than the 2007 release.

My dream color timing (I haven't even been near a 35mm print of the film, just some guy who complains about home releases on the internet, take with a major grain of salt) would be to have the color levels around the 2007 release for the autumn daytime scenes and then the 2013's levels for the night time scenes, the original 4K overdid the dull colors.

Someone posted a video of Halloween on the big screen from 1979. It is the final scene, but looks just like the blu.

Regarding volume difference between these versions, you'll have to raise the volume of the 2014 version by 3.8 db too match the lufs loudness of the old track.
Not alot but they don't match in that comparison.
