That's what we thought when the box set came out.

I can't seem to track it down but somewhere on their site or Facebook post they said "Original Color Timing Presentation" meant the 2007 blu-ray color timing. I can't find where this was said but I'm 100% sure I saw it confirmed that's what that meant.

That's true, but you can even question this release and how viable it is to the growing number of consumers giving up physical media and moving 100% over to streaming. The only way I see physical formats surviving in the movie industry is for some of the companies to make note of the modest success and revival of the vinyl record format.

Vinyl certainly isn't affordable to buy but it is the dominant physical format to music buyers who are willing to shell out the coin for better sound quality. Companies like Shout Factory, Criterion, Vinegar Syndrome and so on could latch onto a niche factor like Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs (MFSL) have done with their One Step Pressings. They are asking $125 USD for an album pressed to vinyl, absolutely insane but they sell out each and every time. Imagine having to pay over $100 for one of these films on 4K UHD... it may get to that point if they want it to.

Sheesh, I just want to know if it will look and sound as good as my "pre-viewed" VHS rental tape my parents bought me for Christmas back in 1982.

Agreed, certain companies like twilight time has already had a similar business model with limited pressings that skyrocket in price on the second hand market.

Perhaps I was being a little too definitive in my statement though. This may not be the very last, end-all-be-all release but in all likelihood this maybe the last widespread release these 5 films get. Walk into any Target, Best Buy or FYI and notice how little they offer on physical media. Not saying I like it but it's hard to ignore reality.

I don’t think we’re nearly close to that point yet. We thought we were 6 years ago too. Plus, cult horror films have always been huge with physical media collectors, and these releases are already dedicated more to die-hard fans of the franchise than the average consumer. I definitely don’t think this is the last we’ll see of these films on physical. One way or another, they’ll find another way to milk this cash cow since the Halloween franchise is a major tent pole for Scream Factory, just like it was previously for Anchor Bay.

Yes, I would like to ask the same question.

Is this new release in France coming with the new 4K scan from this year like the upcoming Shout Factory release?

We can bring that back up on the 45th Anniversary. For now the pitchforks are at the ready for Dean Cundey's work on the picture quality.

To actually talk about the discs . . .

It looks like DiabolikDVD is preparing to ship. My order changed from Preorder to “Halloween 1-5 All” this morning.

I watched this for about the millionth time tonight and I discovered something I never noticed before. When Bob and Linda are having sex, you can hear him say to her "all your base are belong to us". I always wondered where that came from and what it meant; I guess it's his way of conquering...?

I'll be darned.

This is the first time I ordered from DiabolikDVD. I haven't been checking my order and I now see mine also says Halloween 1-5 All.

What does Halloween 1-5 All mean? Does it mean they have it in stock?

It means you ordered all 5 as opposed to Halloween 3 Only or a variation. Helps them separate orders so its easier to batch orders for 1 or 2 or all copies.
