Wow does this new release help me out.
For the last few years I've been watching the UHD version while having the audio on mute. Meanwhile I have the laserdisc audio playing without the picture so I can get the original mono track. It's a real pain sometimes trying to sync them up. |

Best Buy Canada sucks, especially for movies. Last time I went in there was to get a toaster and they had 1 display shelf for movies. The music and movie section used to take up 1/4 of the store.

I did get a blob of what I believe was glue on a disc last year - I just used some Novus plastic cleaner and it came right off. And like you, I am pretty anal about my discs - which is why I have a spray bottle of said plastic cleaner and microfiber cloths in a kit with my collection, for when I (or usually a guest LOL) mess up and get our fingerprints on it. I guess we are just very lucky? I'd never discount the experiences others have, so I don't usually mention it - but just wanted to say, since folks seem to be giving you a hard time about it - you aren't alone, LOL. |

I can't say whether or not my discs have had smudges or finger prints on them as I can't say that I've ever inspected them.
I do know that nobody treats their stuff worse than me so I know that the one time I've had an irreparable problem with a disc (IB from the Tarantino box set) it had to have been down to me. I've really become less and less precious with my stuff. I have the 15 disc set of HALLOWEEN. I've watched 1,2 ,4 and the zombie flicks twice each and the rest only once when I first ripped it open and marathoned them. I've never watched the SEASON OF THE WITCH disc. I've watched my f13 box set once as well. I'll keep both sets so my kids can watch the installments I'll never watch again but truthfully once I get the ones I want from both series on UHD, there's a very good chance that none of the disc's from either series will be watched again until I take both of them to the local thrift store (valumart in Toronto) and donate them like I've done with so many LDs, DVDs and blurays before.. |
