Looks like Best Buy kept the original Release date but since I Pre-ordered through Scream Factory will have to Wait hopefully I'll get them Next Tuesday or Before!

I didn't see any on the few shelves Best Buy still has left. I had to order through the site for in-store pick up and then they brought it up from stock. I was shocked. I expected them to tell me there was a website error and it wouldn't be available until next week. But I walked away with a copy and I'm super stocked to check it out tonight.

Well, we are still a full week ahead of the release date. I mean, it'd be nice to get it early, sure, but wishing you'd paid a full extra yard? Cancelling an order? Maybe I'm not the blu-ray fanatic I thought I was.

I went and got one of the three my local BBY had. Was particularly painful getting them to get it for me. I checked the shelves and couldn't find it. Had to help the CS guy pull it up on the computer. Then the CS guy yelled for help across the store to a manager, she yelled back to check the new releases, a shelf behind the CS desk and the regular movie section. I said I already checked those sections. She went and checked them again herself. Then she asked me to help her find it on her handheld device. She asked another guy where it was, he found the empty shelf tag for it, and said it probably sold out and the computer was wrong. The manager walked back up to the CS desk, started talking to more people on the phone, asking if it was in the backroom. Finally she said she'd go back and get it, and came out with it.



A lot of BBYs in PA are showing it in stock, but mostly only from 1 to 3 copies.

I'd gladly wait until release date, but Amazon Canada is just as likely to say out of stock on release day as they are to ship it based on my experience anyway. But yeah my amazon order came to about $120 total as I had a $50 gift card and to order through Shout with shipping and the conversion rate would be about $270 lol

Watched the main UHD presentation… and I’m very happy with it. Now I’m skimming through the rest… watching the extended version with SD inserts, looks solid.

I did get a blob of what I believe was glue on a disc last year - I just used some Novus plastic cleaner and it came right off. And like you, I am pretty anal about my discs - which is why I have a spray bottle of said plastic cleaner and microfiber cloths in a kit with my collection, for when I (or usually a guest LOL) mess up and get our fingerprints on it.

I guess we are just very lucky? I'd never discount the experiences others have, so I don't usually mention it - but just wanted to say, since folks seem to be giving you a hard time about it - you aren't alone, LOL.

I've also never purchased a new/sealed disc and found it to have scratches or fingerprints. I've had a handful of discs that were loose upon opening the case, but luckily there were no blemishes on the discs. Maybe I've also just been very lucky.

Is the extended version the 2013 transfer with added scenes like as in the box set? Just curious -- if so, this set would have no less than 3 HD (read Blu-Ray) transfers to choose from technically.

I never owned the complete set sadly, so I can’t confirm…

It is an HD presentation with SD inserts… and the the insertion of SD is pretty seamless.

It’s buried in the mix on the filtered mono. It’s THERE, but it basically just sounds like white noise instead of the signature eeehhrrrr! sound effect. If you search this thread, there are some comparison vids on YouTube.

Anyone with an Oppo 203 have their hands on this yet? That first reviewer had trouble playing the UHD on the usually-dependable Oppo -- had to shut and restart the player with the disc in the tray to get it to work. Wondering if anyone else has had this experience.

It just hit me… anyone thinking of taking their old 4K Slipcover and sliding it over the Scream Edition Case? That is if it can still fit inside slipbox

The reversible artwork on the insert is the original movie poster art. No need for useless cardboard.

I just compared the LD mono with the filtered mono. There's a kind of echoing sound that's apparent in the original LD mono that is muted in the filtered mono.
