The Dolby ATMOS track on the German 4K sounded pretty good to my ears.

A 5 film BD was released this week so a 4K version is surely on the horizon. Probably around Fathers Day if I had to guess.

Yes. You pick English language from the audio and AUS for the subtitles.

It will only show subtitles when there are Spanish speaking sections.

So the German cut is exactly the same as the US cut, just with the extra opening scene? No violence/gore is cut from the German release is it?

Different opening scene, extra scene with the Martinez brothers and several extra quick scenes added throughout the movie.

Nothing cut. Only extra scenes added.

Film wise? I really enjoyed it. Critics gave it a bashing but was thoroughly entertained, definitely took me by surprise plot wise of where it went and how violent it got. Overall, a decent watch.
Of course you had to jack up the sound bar. Its a freaking sound bar that's why. Hahahha. In a real Dolby Atmos setup it's great. Its quiet compare to the Rambo 2008 Atmos track. Critics are useless. They wouldn't know a good movie if they were paid. At Slys age. This is a good finish to Rambo.

Rented this and watched it last night. Really enjoyed it! Love that it was less than 90 minutes long and still was able to tell a story that managed to get you emotionally involved and invested in the characters!

PQ was reasonably good, a few car scenes looked to have fake backdrops lol, but perhaps this was on a budget. I would buy once around £10.

Watched this Friday night and really enjoyed it. However, it didn’t feel like I was watching a Rambo film. It felt more like a Deathwish movie to me.

It does actually have a weak Atmos sound mix. The mix on the blu-ray is much better.

You know while thinking about this more the reason I'm leaning towards this over Rambo 4 is because of the missionaries/mercenaries aspect.

This is John Rambo on a quest for revenge despite how contrived it may seem to have gotten to the traps at the end.

Looking at Rambo with that mullet of a hair style is another minus because in the 80s it was a stylistic choice, but in 2008 he just looks silly.

The plot of 4 had too much going with the "others" as Shaq would say about role players on a basketball team.

4 felt more like a Rambo film with it being a war movie but there's something really enjoyable about 5 that I like.

It's kinda like getting to see Rambo do something different and another side of him. I think 4 is the better movie but 5 is an easier watch. I've seen it probably 6 times already and I'm still not tired of it.

Part 4 was a good ending but I couldn't see Rambo having a quiet family life on a ranch.
He has PTSD. He comes full circle in part 5. He's actually mentally at peace at the end of part 5. He's body came home in part 4 but his mind was still at war.
I like that he actually brings the war home to his actual home which is the farm by the end of 5.
4 was a good ending but 5 as an ending makes more sense for the Rambo character.
