Is that a blu-ray problem or a player problem?

Shouldn't a disc be playable on a player like any other disc (if other discs with DV play normally on said player)?

Watched some of it tonight. It's a better transfer than the first UHD and I enjoyed the lossless mono track. I sold the Criterion LD years ago, so unfortunately I can't compare it to the mono on that disc(plus I'm too lazy to get the LD player out of the attic anyway).

The Dolby Atmos track is impressive if you don't mind the newer sound FX. The opening scene as they're driving to the hospital felt like there was a massive storm outside.

I got my copy today at Best Buy, and my disc is also having a bad flickering with Dolby Vision. Possible replacement disc program?

Yes, I am also having the same issue

They are trickling down from the warehouse to the stores through out the week, but the warehouse won’t ship the .com orders until the end of this week.

Let me guess. All of you are using Panasonic players with Dolby Vision?

Does the Shout disc have the shifting aspect ratio like the Lionsgate release?

Mine is the UB820 as well. If TV matters it’s an LG CX. I haven’t had this issue with other movies that use Dolby Vision.

LG NanoCell90. I’ll try turning off the Dolby Vision and see if that works.

I had a similar issue with Donnie Darko, except it wasn’t flickering it was a frame rate issue. Arrow sent out replacement discs.

Mist likely it is an issue with the Panasonic player since they have not issued a firmware update in a couple of years to fix this issue. There are few other Dolby Vision titles like Knives Out, Vigilante, Midway and Ghost In The Shell that have this issue. I watched Halloween on my Sony player with no flickering issues on my LG C9.

So is Atmos just Dolby True HD on a lower end receiver? I'm curious to hear the brand new scan of that Atmos soundtrack first, what bitrate are you missing out on with the fold down? Can't be much. Is the bitrate superior to the DTS-HD mix or is it just a different mastering more or less? Very excited to hear the mono mix, but I've seen promising things about the Atmos since it's new.

Also expecting to get my discs smashed and covered in fingerprints now because of the replies here, Michael Myers jumping out of the Shout cardboard to smite me for using Best Buy

I turned on my Panasonic right now and a firmware update just popped up, I kid you not. I will let you know if that fixed the Dolby Vision issue.

The 2013 35th Anniversary Blu-ray has a blotchy grain because they screwed up the encode or it’s an old encode or something.
Compare the new 2021 screenshots to the german 2019 Blu-ray or the first 4k UHD Disc, a better representation of the 2013 restoration.

The Panasonic firmware update fixed the Dolby Vision flickering. It looks stunning. Wow.

I almost didn't believe you. Whhhatt?!?! This thing hasn't received an update in well over a year. All I can say is: Finally, Panasonic! I don't have this disc yet, but I'm gonna give Knives Out a spin after it has downloaded. Thanks for pointing this out.

Man, I really wish Paramount would license the next three Halloween films to Scream Factory, because I doubt they’ll release them themselves seeing as they didn’t remaster Scream 2-3.

I have checked a couple scenes. The new Atmos mix sounds great and the new 4K transfer with Dolby Vision is an upgrade over the Lionsgate release. This is a must own 4K and the best it has ever looked. I’m very pleased.
