Worth getting at 8 for a blind buy or would I regret this?

It's very imaginative and pretty looking and the music is great too.

$8 is probably the perfect price for a somewhat meh, but fun and cool looking sci-fi fantasy movie. Definitely imaginative, yeah.

It's not Oscar material, but I enjoyed it for over $20 last year when I bought the steelbook on Thanksgiving night during my Best Buy shift as a blind buy.

It was fun. Just go in with low expectations and you'll enjoy the spectacle.

Is there any difference in PQ between the US and UK release of this movie?

$8 is well worth it just to see Cara Delevingne on-screen in a fun sci-fi romp.

Alexandre Desplat's BEST use of AUDIO imho, and there's some very nice WCG/HDR in here. He likes to mix classical orchestral and elctronic. It's on a BD-100GB disc, but 2K upscale ya ya wish it was native 4k. At least it's on a 100GB disc Michael Bays Transformers are 2K upscales on 100GB discs and are some of the bests on the format.

If you don't have Surround Speakers with some power and HDR/WCG then ya, don't bother

For all those wondering, just picked up and tested the Australian 4K release and it does in fact play Dolby Vision.

What an intro! I agree! And what about those performances jared leto, will smith, margot robbie, cara delevigne, jay hernandez etc. they knocked it out of the park! These guys make marvels thanos look like an oafish boring dried up california raisin stepchild, but hey that's none of my buisness...anyway this isn't a what if comic or a crossover.

I feel like that scene has great jump cutting and editing in that sequence. The soundtrack always playing with your attention and the lightning fast cutting. A modern inspired Jean Luc Godards editing from the 60's new wave infusion to a modern movie, and the rest of the movie a cinematic homage to John Carpenters style from the era of Assult on Precinct 13/Escape from New york/They Live (definetly not his 90's and up shit lol!) but as if he did a comic book movie with a mid 70's to mid 80's take. To me that's a fun way to do a dark themed comic book set of characters and setting into a hollywood movie. I like the whole bad guys with attitude and bi polar or whatever mental disorders versus old school villanous mental mytical creature and an untrusting corrupt government/Carpenter style. That ending battle sequence feels like it was inspired by 84 ghostbusters.

It's very underated because there was a large number of marvel fans that wanted to hate it before they watched it. Same with Jared Leto and Will Smith. They're all missing out on the fun. Let them.

Back to VALERIAN. Some people should try tapping into their inner child when they watch Valerian or SS, some people here just obviously can't. They become cynical for attentions sake on these forums. Desperate arguments ensue. The people that don't like Valerian...I bet their primary complaint is that it doesn't have any lightsabers or the george lucasfilms sell out name on it...pffflol Star war fans gotta hate on it. Because at its core this is better than any of the new star wars episodes. You can't tell them that THEIR new franchise sucks... it sucked when Lucas brought it back from the grave and it still sucks since Disney brought it back from the grave...at least Harrison Ford killed it in his performance right? ha ha, and so what do they do? Talk crap about better movies. Just because they don't have the old die hard fan base of suckers behind them. Yep.

I liked this one enough to watch it again. Happy to have it in the collection. I'll never watch the 4k version until my TV's break and I can no longer watch the fantastic 3D edition though.
