John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum 4K UHD (2019)

Reminds me of what an old Texas-based movie critic (Joe Bob Briggs--fake name) use to say: "don't let the plot get in the way of the action"! While this seems to increasingly be the case with each new Wick movie...I still enjoy them.

I liked that a lot, too. I think the only thing that will matter is how she dies in the next chapter. It better be good.

Towards the end the adjudicator said why, Wick & Winston wanted to parley with the high table, that was the plan, why would they kill the person to parley with. Winston never wanted out he wanted his position back “to serve”. I don’t think there will be a need for her in the next 1, she played her part well so I wouldn’t mind a cameo.

Also Wick doesn’t have an issue with the adjudicator, his issue is with the high table now. If the high table tells the adjudicator to drop it she will.

[Show spoiler]the Adjudicator was correct in that the Continental didn't have the resources to fight an infinite number of High Table hit squads. So Winston pretends to kill John in order to get back in their good graces in order to buy time for another showdown another day.

I didn't realize that it was a setup. I thought John fell pretty hard from high enough with a bullet in the chest to succumb to his wounds. He's a tough cookie that John Wick guy.

In John Wick 4 we might see the female adjudicator in a fight with John Wick.
But she must have a million clone replacements. Wick'd better have lots of ammunitions ...

well... who sent adjudicator? high table, isn't it? and they all know she's here to judge and have whoever she wants to be punished / killed... and let her walk away, you think that makes sense...? if Wick wants to fight high table, she'd go first and never walks out from continental...

and don't let me start with JW BS, he said he wants to survive all this so he can "REMEMBER" his dead wife, really? how many does he need to kill? how selfish is that? and he broke the rule and doesn't want to face the consequences? and wants to starts over to break the rule / promise all over again?

The point is that she's just a mouthpiece for the High Table, she's there to tell the players what the situation is and not much else. She's not the one making the orders so killing her achieves nothing. Besides, Wick usually kills those who are out to kill him, as in physically kill him by their own hand, but she's not there in that capacity. That's one of the things that endeared me to JW3, that a bureaucrat can waltz in and waltz out of the mayhem without incurring a scratch, dispensing the fury of the High Table in such a dispassionate way. Love it.

But they're biting Asian cinema a bit, when people think they're innovating. They straight ripped off that motorcycle fight from The Villainess. And I guess the 2 guys from The Raid helped with fight choreography, but The Raid has way better action scenes due to Iko Uwais' talent. That fight with the 2 guys from The Raid at the end of JW3 was kind of a let down after seeing how they worked with Iko.

I simply registered for this. The Raid movies were crap, IMO. Martial arts movies are so repetitive. If you have seen one you have seen them all. The Raid movies aren't any different from the thousands of martial arts movies out there. I couldn't even finish the second one. Awful movies. You people act like as if martial arts movies didn't exist before The Raid films.

Iko Iwais has no charisma and screen presence. No personality at all. He just looks like some random stunt man. Totally forgettable.

I'll take the John Wick films over any Asian action movie out there. Infact, I'll take any Hollywood action movie over any Asian action movie out there. It's not even close, IMO.

well respect your comment but she was the one who called and order to deconsecrate NY continental, wasn't she?... so she MADE a decision and more over in front of them...well come to think about this she MADE a lot of decisions, 7 bullets, 7 slashes and so on...

I don’t think John cares about the adjudicator, she’s just a messenger, like you said a clone. I think John & The Bowery King will team up to go after the high table, maybe with Winston’s help behind the scenes. I think the next chapter really has to involve more of the high table and an overwhelming amount of bullet proof bad guys, overwhelming odds, more people that he’s worked with in the past, and I think it should go a little darker like a pissed off John who’s been pushed too hard. Chapter 3 was the best in the series and it’s really going to be hard to top it, but if they keep working with the Taron Tactical & Vigilance Elite guys, bring in some fresh creative ideas, it can be done. The dogs have to come back again though.

The club scene in chapter 1 is one of my favorite parts in the series. Music/Lighting Change/Shooting w/Martial Arts...it’s perfect. Whenever I know someone who hasn’t seen any of the movies I show them that scene first and their faces go

If they want to keep the franchise alive, like Rambo, maybe Wick after the apocalypse around the High Table's leaders and staff would be forced to go into exile in another country. ...And face various assassins in each country. He could become a globetrotter, meet a bunch of friendly doggies.
