Missing from the above list are:
(There are also two Easter eggs: one of J.J. going up in a P-51 Mustang and one of an I think AD announcing on set that the night before J.J.'s Lost won multiple Emmys.) Last edited by Paul.R.S; 06-17-2018 at 03:37 AM. |

Screw Paramount on this release. They've had 10 years to fix some of the worst bluray releases ever. Im ticked off that they would keep lossy audio on the blurays and not update them, and maybe add some new extras. The worst part is that there are bd releases out there with lossless but they didnt use them. The 4k discs are probably crap too and paramount hasn't even finished their collection on bluray yet

No, it’s not. I want to know now aswell. I’m not pre ordering the box set till I know what soundtracks they’ve got and whether they’ll include the extras disc for m:i 3. Paramount have not got a good track record with the earlier releases they they keep churning out with crappy soundtracks etc.

Take Star Trek into Darkness for instance. The only reason the IMAX ratio got retained was due to a popular petition, heck we may not even get the original ratio with Infinity War coming out soon. It's a sad time for cinephiles. IMAX Scenes are one of my favourite things about Nolan's movies. Why can't I say that about other directors? Surely they care enough to get their hard work displayed on home video the way it was intended. |

Brad Bird didn't really want Ghost Protocol in IMAX ratio on Blu-ray anyway for what it's worth. He thought it made sense for IMAX but on home media preferred a non-shifting ratio.

Yes on the MPEG2 Blu-Ray I've always found the transfer to be extremely odd. Some sections seemed to have processing applied, others (like when they break into Langley) appeared kind of dirty but also untouched. It is a strange and very inconsistent presentation beyond the ancient encoding.
The UHD thankfully doesn't have that problem, though it's a tad uneven in a different way. It's striking how the color seems magically enhanced at around the 20 minute mark, once the team goes "on the run" it's like someone found the HDR button and jacked it up. Overall it's still a dramatic enhancement over the old BD, as you'd expect (and hope). Last edited by DMRI2006; 06-16-2018 at 04:26 PM. |

For clarification since my post was missed earlier:
Mission: Impossible, Mission: Impossible II, and Mission: Impossible III are the same 1080p Blu-rays as before. Only the 4K BDs feature Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio to be consistent with the Dolby audio for the follow up films. Mission: Impossible III includes the original special features disc for Mission: Impossible III. It is not a new disc, its the same disc from 2006 and includes easter eggs. None of the retailer exclusives are included in this 4K collection. |

Thanks, Kylo (I think you mean ". . .more than what's listed on the SLIP.").
