I haven’t watched the digital extended cut versions, but going by the description, the extended breakfast scene isn’t on the German extended cut Blu-ray.

No, it definitely isn't.

I watched it earlier, then I watched the US version again.

I'll be keeping the German disc and selling the US one. Transfer wise, they're about the same. Same digital anomalies, etc.

I can see the for and against cases regarding the prologue, but I preferred it with.

Hopefully we'll get a proper recut one day, with the ending that's shown in the series montage during the end credits. A wounded Rambo dragging himself onto a horse and ridding off. Not bleeding on his porch, with Sly's awful edgelord narration laid thick over the top.

Sly is going to have a Q&A on IGTV sometime soon. If anyone wants to ask if the Extended Cut will come to 4K Blu-Ray, now is the time. Go ask on his Instagram page.

Does he not ride off on his horse in the international version?

Nope.

The only difference to the ending, is the length of the final tracking shot away from the house.

If you were to choose between the International Cut in 4K without the added breakfast dialogue, or the Extended Cut on streaming WITH the breakfast dialogue in regular old 1080p, which would you go for and why?

I haven't seen the extended cut that's streaming, so have no opinion on it.

Sorry.

Sorry.
I just watched the Extended Cut that's streaming, and aside from the extended breakfast conversation, and the shorter pull out from Rambo's house, there are no differences between that and the international version.

We need a 4th edit on 4k, that includes everything!
I hate this piecemeal crap!

that's quite confusing. I was under the impression that the extended digital cut was the same as the international cut. So it's 3 cuts now out in the wild...

The German 4K was the one to get. Extended and with all English subtitles for all of the Spanish dialogue. Going cheap of late, too.

The Blu copy is 'B' locked, though.

Yeah, but can it be imported to the US yet?

Just gonna chime in to say I'd go for the international cut in 4K, because the extended breakfast dialogue in the new cut seems very minor to give up the added resolution, HDR, plus the superior encoding of a disc.

By the by, for those who've seen the new cut on streaming, does the tunnel PTSD flashback have the correct visuals this time? (i.e. shot of the dead hiker who then opens their eyes)

I still think there's a solid chance of a 4K double-dip with the new cut, given that Rambo 4 got a double-dip. It's an opportunity to include a Sly commentary and some additional BTS content about the storm sequence. And if Rambo 6 is actually on the cards as Sly said, then sales of a new disc would surely influence a decision.

If you're referring to the scene about 11 minutes into it while he's repairing the tunnels and working the forge, it's only Vietnam footage and a small voice over of the male hiker asking about his wife. If it's later on, and I don't recall anything in the US theatrical, then I haven't got that far. Once I do I can update accordingly.

I hope this comes to blu ray though, I think I like this version. A little bit more.
