I agree 100%!!! My Halloween 2 UHD disc was not even snapped into the spindle! Naturally it’s all scratched, sent an email to Shout & got a reply within 1/2 hr saying they wouldn’t replace it & I have to bring it back to Best Buy who naturally doesn’t have anymore!!! If it wasn’t for my love of classic horror I wouldn’t buy another disc that Shout releases!!!

I’m going to be honest. Not a big fan of how this site is handling the order of Halloween.

I think people blaming Shout for not replacing discs yet are missing part of the picture. These discs just came out, you have 30 days or more in some cases to return them to the retailer. When a few months go by, or even half a year, Shout will have to start sending out discs if you show proof of purchase. They have replaced every single disc I ever asked them to via email, even a GKids one once that I bought from Amazon a year and a half earlier, which started flaking silver off the disc coating for some reason, I thought I had zero chance for a replacement but they did it. Even an extended warranty doesn't kick in right away. So go to the retailer and save yourself time, or sit on these discs and wait for Shout to start sending out new ones.

You must've missed the threads of people complaining that Shout hadn't instituted a replacement program for the F13 set... two days before the official street date... when they were still shipping orders out.

[Show spoiler]

I could say the same thing regarding a lot of stuff in my collection. This site has a problem with movies with sequels titled in non-1-2-3 ways, and sometimes even with those. I wish there was an overwrite that could be done internally without messing with the list title. The "Season / sequence / chronological order" is supposed to deal with this, but in cases like this, it doesn't function as it should.

At least the Halloween films are all grouped together.

Freddy's Dead, New Nightmare and half of the Friday the 13th films are screwed.

I thought we were talking about Halloween discs here? I am not familiar at all with whatever else you're telling me.

OK, since this thread is apparently about both releases - it's time for a poll, isn't it? Otherwise we are going to have the same question every page and a half of which one people think is better or not from here on out...let's give people the numbers they want, LOL.

H18 was the best Halloween sequel in decades, critically and commercially. They were right to retcon the second one. And I'd say it was a good idea, considering H18 cost about $15 million and raked in $255 million.

I saw it opening night at tiff. The audience loved this movie. It completely revived the franchise. It was the movie that they wanted H20 to be but it never panned out.

I completely agree 100%. I mean, I absolutely love Halloween II and Halloween III, but that was the right choice by the filmmakers.

I bet John Carpenter (himself) doesn't have that many copies of Halloween, and it's his own movie.
