Is there a reason to keep the Lionsgate 4K (assuming you are happier with the Shout transfer)? From what I can tell the only other difference is that the Lionsgate release has the On Location: 25 Years Later.

I pre-ordered all of them from Amazon Canada. After a few days 1,3,4,5 finally shipped and are on the way. Part 2 said it would arrive by October 13 but never shipped and shows out of stock on the site now. I happened to find 2 at Sunrise Records so I bought it and cancelled the rest of my Amazon order. The only other ones they had at Sunrise was another copy of Part 2 and one copy of Part 3.

All that is to say, apparently Shout doesn't like money. How hard is it to make these readily available or to have anticipated the demand.

ok got my first one today from amazon, just waiting on 2 and 3.
ok, i dont have a 4k blu-ray or tv, so iam only interested in the blu-ray. now i have the last one the 35th anniversary, and this one is great.. the colors look better and its got the mono track... i could care less about the 3rd disc.. i did watch the broadcast, it didnt look bad. but hey, did anyone notice that they actually show pj soles one breast when laurie finds her in that closet space... surprised the tv sensors didnt noticed that... they were really strict with r rated movies' back in 81...

I honestly think the mono sounds really good. And the color timing is easily the best it’s ever been.

I got 1 and 3 in bubble mailers, course I also bought them separately but still. No real damage on them.

So it’s my understanding that nearly every copy of Halloween (1978) has the first disc loose? I went through two copies at my local Best Buy. Both were loose and scratched. I’m assuming this is also a problem with Halloween II since they use the same case? Has anyone gotten lucky and NOT received a loose disc for both of these? In any case, can I confidently buy 3,4,& 5 without having to worry about this problem? (Since those are just 2 disc sets). Also, really shitty of Shout not to replace discs unless you bought from them directly. Really getting tired of their crap. Every single major release has had some sort of hiccup. They’re so ghetto lol

My copies from Diabolik were completely intact.

This thread is a Scream Factory lovefest. The only transfer that was actually worked on by Dean Cundy was the last one. This SF transfer is yet another one where they showed it to Cundy and asked, "what do you think". Not the same thing. If you want it to look like it did in theaters, then it's already been done. The rest is just revisionist color timing.

The problem in the H1 and H2 sets is the loose hub they used at SF. It won't hold the disc. Not due to shipping or knocking it around.

Even with the occasionally noisy grain this DESTROYS the Lionsgate disc. YMMV, but I’m not too bothered by the compression here. It’s nothing like a StudioCanal disc where you can actually see artifacts everywhere.

Also, has anyone pointed out that the original R rating logo is present at the end? Pretty cool.
