Supervised vs approved. Approved has lead to all the various color timed versions. So yeah. Facts. You can like the ones that have wrong color timing. That's up to you. Also worth considering is that along with Cundy supervising it, Carpenter approved the Lionsgate disc according to Digital Bits. But the only other one Carpenter approved was the 2007 one that people don't like.

Amazon shipped 4 to me in a paper bag. It literally said, paper bag on the outside.

Thankfully they were all in perfect condition.

I did watch it as well, which is why I'm posting the caps. Glad you enjoy subpar compression though! Please tell us what other UHDs you own that you think look "phenomenal". I really value your opinion.

Shout/Scream usually miss more than they hit. They botched the Escape From New York disc.

In any case, can I confidently buy 3,4,& 5 without having to worry about this problem? (Since those are just 2 disc sets). Also, really shitty of Shout not to replace discs unless you bought from them directly. Really getting tired of their crap. Every single major release has had some sort of hiccup. They’re so ghetto lol
I've only received Part 2 thus far, but there were no discs loose. But I bought it at a store as opposed to having it shipped

I love all of these negative comments from the same people over and over again. I absolutely love these transfers. I’ve bought just about every release except for The Criterion Collection LD (I never bought LD because I’ve always felt that the format was absolutely stupid). This is most likely the last time we’re going to get Halloween on disc. Be thankful that Shout! Factory even did this. I did have the issue with the discs not being secured in the cases for H1 and H3. Halloween II is coming from SF directly because Amazon gave me a ridiculous shipping date. Just enjoy what you have and stop bashing SF for doing what they do.

I don't want to muddy the waters, since I'm genuinely happy with the new 4K discs of H1 and H2... but has anyone pulled frame comparisons between the new 4K and the new Blu-ray -- for H1 and/or H2? Pure curiosity, but wondering how the compression and perceived film-grain stacks up. I haven't even popped in my new Blu-rays from the two sets; I feel wayyyy too lazy to check them out, since I'm not at all dissatisfied with the 4K discs... but like I said, I am curious.

Do yourself a favor, don't even bother to compare anything to worry yourself sick over, and curiosity killed the cat. The 4K UHD and the Blu-ray are going to look different because one is in 4K and the other disc is not. That's to be expected! Personally I could care less what the standard blu-ray movies looks like because, that's not what I bought it for. I buy them for the 4K UHD discs. If I only wanted the blu-ray, I could've bought the standard blu-ray. It's been re-released a thousand times over the years.

Just testing out the disc to hear the thunderstorm

At 8 mins 11 seconds in ATMOS sounds like the barely avoided a bomb!!

The Atmos will probably be a fun novelty for the series but when you quickly compare the MONO on the same moment they are clearly away from whatever war is being fought

You really do have to increase the volume on the mono for sure

4 and 5 shipped from Amazon on Thursday. They were supposed to be delivered today. They arrived to my small, middle-of-nowhere, town this morning on schedule..... and then another update came along saying they were passed off to another post office in a town over 2 hours away in another state and now I don't have my movies. I don't understand how sorting mail gets so messed up sometimes!
