I would suggest reading the whole article and not judging from a headline; he specifically says they're only using his face for motion capture.

That CGI is awful. It looks like animation not like something real and looks even more horrible any time you can see a human in the shot.

I give it a grade of D.

I thought Wonder Woman was decent but this just looks too much like an Avengers rip off and boring CGI-fest. These super-hero movies are getting so over saturated it's not even funny.

Aside from being an ensemble superhero movie, it doesn't seem to be anything like The Avengers.

The similarities are due to the source material and not the films themselves. The tone, cinematography, visual style of the characters and the world, etc, all look different from The Avengers.

He says he's not in costume, but that doesn't mean he isn't wearing some sort of motion capture suit on set. He could be referring to not wearing a big suit of armor, the gray pajamas aren't exactly a costume.

It makes no sense that they wouldn't do any motion capture on the body since that's what Snyder has done on BvS, Man of Steel, Sucker Punch, etc.

Even if Hinds didn't do body capture for Steppenwolf, they could've gotten a younger more atheistic actor to motion capture for body movement. Doomsday in BvS was mo-cap by multiple actors.
