Indeed Brad. This is likely in my top 10 discs as far as image quality.

I seriously wonder what the reviewers are reviewing their titles on.

Maybe a TCL???

I too could see no discernible difference between the blu ray and the UHD disc when viewed on my set-up

This is the same reviewer who gave the 4K GOODFELLAS a 1/5 for PQ. That should tell you something.

I say this with the utmost confidence in my heterosexuality, this disc is marvellous. It’s one of my personal favourites. BUT it’s all subjectively based on taste and gear. I didn’t find the HDR grading “very subtle” as the reviewer stated. It was obvious on my panel and my viewing environment. Maybe he screened in a bright room with his blinds open? Who knows? Who cares really. All that matters is what the person who shelled out $30 thinks and for myself it was worth the wait and the disc lives up to the hype.

A three for this? This is reference quality for me. Wow I wonder what they consider a five?

Is he serious???

I’m totally confounded by this. What kind of equipment is he reviewing this on?

Maybe he would want to get a panel that is a higher quality? It looks amazing on my LG OLED maybe?

I just lost faith in this reviewer for sure. I’ll be skipping his reviews in the future.

It’s definitely one of the top PQ titles on UHD with HDR.

I am so sick and tired of the reviews from this site.

I don't know if I agree with everyone that this is a 'reference' disc--but it absolutely, 100% is a great looking disc, that's a substantial boost in improvement in every aspect when compared to its already impressive blu-ray.

The colors, and usage of dark highlights, more than anything, really stand out.

This absolutely deserves better than 3/5.

Oh, well at least they're consistently harsh. So if you think Goodfellas is a 2 or 3, then you'll think IT is a 4 or 5.

I have to completely disagree about HDR and color not showing out in this one, or not being worth it on the UHD, but I can see knocking it as not much of a showcase for increased detail. It can't really hang with some releases in that regard (Revenant, Leon, Blade Runner, A Few Good Men etc). Neither could Wonder Woman, but Wonder Woman is still a knock out for what it is, and the absolute best way to watch it.

I stand by the HDR and WCG on the IT UHD making the BD look like a TV movie by comparison.

TCLs got nothing to do with it, this looked great on my P series. Sharpness, color, blacks, it looked great.

After watching IT in 4K Dolby Vision on an Oppo 203/LG B7, I was surprised to see a 3/5 PQ score on the site. It's not TASM2 PQ but it's a good looking UHD!

I've noticed some sites review UHDs on projectors, which I always found odd as most projectors aren't true 4K and definitely don't have the same HDR capabilities as TVs.

A solid 4K TV should be a prerequisite for making 4K reviews IMO.

Anyone notice this in the review?

Note that It has also been encoded with Dolby Vision, as an alternative to standard HDR. Blu-ray.com is currently evaluating options for Dolby Vision playback and review.
He can't do DV.

They have that disclaimer on every review of a disc with Dolby Vision.

Awwwhhhoh, the HUMANITY!!!!

I agree that at the very least, this deserves a 3.5 at the very least, but a solid 4, to a 4.5, makes more sense to me.

But it's ok to disagree with someone's assessment on 'things'. Most likely many will not agree with a 3.0 score, but just keep note of how much you agree with reviewers' opinions, understand you may/may not be in line with the mojo they're spreadin'. I do that. I know the name of every reviewer for this site, and know when I will/won't want to see a movie if someone gives it 5 stars lol

I am not dissuaded by the blu-ray.com review, thanks to coming to this thread. I will buy the 4k edition; it is only $5 more anyway.

A 3/5 for this disc is laughable. He seems like he’s accusing the HDR for dialing up the reds intentionally, yet those reds were strong theatrically, too. The picture is damn near flawless and quite a looker much of the time. Pretty much as good as the theatrical experience if not a little better. And 3/5? Come on. That’s just silly. This disc deserves at least a 4.

I've definitely had my problems with reviewers over the years, especially when it comes to DNR, but a lot of the reviews are done well here.

This review seems crazy, but I wouldn't know in truth. Maybe it's just a case of the guy was tired and sat further away and wasn't into the review IDK. Sometimes with 2K stuff you have be watching.

Now people saying this is reference what are you even smoking? It's not even 4K native lol. This is not reference. Argument over.
