Thanks. I was hoping maybe a player that supports it would be able to decode it and downsample it at least so it's not a horrible picture.

You got a Samsung? Wonder if HDR10+ would make a difference?

I do have a Samsung, but it's older and only has Samsung's early brand of HDR, which is like faux HDR.

Still, I know without proper HDR I'm missing out on the best contrast possible, but that has never made a disc blurry before. This release baffles me. I'd love to have the detail and color timing of this disc with the sharpness and clarity of the Lionsgate disc.

It should have been properly encoded to begin with. If ur DV layer is the "correction" and "solution" for sloppy work we got a problem!!

I’m having issues with brightness fluctuating in Dolby Vision on my setup. I’m on the latest firmware for my 820 and still see this issue. In another thread someone pointed out you can see this on the menu, I checked and it happened half a dozen times. Are any other LG OLED owners not having this problem?

I grabbed this over the weekend. I only got part 1 and 2 and hope to get the other ones later.

I loved how the 4K release looked. Though I do mis the old grainy hard to see VHS version I used to watch. I loved watching this again in 4K . I really enjoyed it. Cant wait to watch part 2, then Halloween 2018 and halloween kills, then my friday the 13th set, and then scream 4K when it arrives.

I almost forgot that annoying but hot girl that says "Tootally" all the time.

Only watched first half of the movie in Dolby Vision, No issues.
Though just checked the Menu, and there is Subtle Brightness Fluctuations, maybe every 3-4 secs. No biggie as its the menu.
I Have my LG C8 at 50 Oled Light and between 70-80 Contrast, not the full 100.

Does anyone have video freezing issues around the 1 hour and 3 minute mark when Laurie gets a call from PJ Soles? And audio issues with the Dolby and Mono tracks around that time as well?

There's a lot there if you read it

(The last shot of “Halloween” marked the true birth of franchise culture. That shot said, “We can do whatever the heck we want. Our desire to set up a sequel is more powerful than the rules you thought we were playing by.”)

The only thing under MM Mask is another sequel LOL!!

I'd try and wipe it off first. Blu-rays are very hard to scratch. I've had tons lose in the case and rare did they have any scratches on them and if they did they wiped right off.

That may be a rip-off (or as I prefer, inspiration) of an idea at most, but he presents it like it makes them the same. I don't think he realises how incredibly stupid that makes him sound.

Yeah, I've never seen one article get so much wrong about so many movies.

I am having the exact same issue. I looked through the forums for this issue but yours is the first time I have seen it mentioned.

It's too bad too. Aside from that the picture looks good. But the fluctuation makes it pretty much unwatchable.

I find it unwatchable too, especially since I always watch movies in a dark room. I saw a few comments in the other Halloween threads about this problem. I haven’t gotten a chance to watch this all the way through, are you noticing this issue throughout the movie? Also are you using a Panasonic player?

I sent Shout an email describing the problem and will post the response here.

I have the 820 and I did the Firmware update and the brightness flickering went away completely.
