I did unfortunately, not surprised by the lack of fan support.

I'm glad you went. Seems you didn't care for it, I understand why, but at least you went . I really hope they stop making new movies after Halloween Ends. There's more than enough variety for people with all the sequels.

They lost Miramax more than a decade ago.

I can accept it more so over the remake, because at least Rob wasn't copy-and-pasting in the second one. It's still way too white trash for me, but his visuals are just excellent and both Brad and Danielle are pretty great in it. I never though I'd say this, but 'Kills' soured me so bad, I'd probably take RZH2 over it.

I saw it in theaters. I enjoyed it a lot, and still do, with all it's flaws.

I did but I worked at a movie theater at the time so it was free.

After seeing how awful and pathetic Halloween 5 was, the acting was atrocious, so I can see why people were adamant on seeing Halloween 6. Halloween III was even better than Halloween 5, and it didn't have Michael Myers in it.

That’s true for most (or all) of the Halloween sequels.

I just realized that my reply could be interpreted as saying that most of the Halloween sequels are better than Halloween 5, but what I meant is that Halloween III is better than most of the Halloween sequels. I hope I’m still right.

Unless the rights aren't what they seem, Criterion released The Piano on UHD. That bodes well for Miramax being willing to license UHD rights outside of Paramount.

It's fine if you're not a fan of the Rob Zombie movies, but they are part of the franchise, and if their goal is to do UHDs of the entire run, they should be included. If you don't want them, no need to buy them.

You are. Halloween III is the best of the sequels.

Change "most" to "all", and you've got it.

The Piano was licensed directly from TF1. Miramax has no control over it here in the states for home video.

As for Miramax titles in general, they do call the shots but Paramount is their official distributor in the US currently. A license would still technically come from Miramax for any of their titles, though I'm not sure how likely that'd be if even on their radar.

At the risk of beating a dead horse, is Shout's 4K of the original worth getting if you already have the Lionsgate 4K?

Yes, just look above the poll results in this forum. Not been rude, just so you can see how many people (me included) prefer this Shout! Factory release over the Lionsgate one.

At this point I would much rather RZ come back and make RZH3 than watch HE. This current trilogy is beyond garbage. Such a waste of a great opportunity. I never thought I would opine for the return of RZ but I have no choice. RZ > DGG.

Yes absolutely. When I watched the Shout 4K of H1 I couldn't believe how amazing it looked. It's a movie I've seen a hundred times but this last time actually made me sit back and say "wow!" because of how amazing the PQ was.

The Lionsgate 4K doesn't look any different than the bluray. It's a pathetic 4K release.

OMG, I can't believe I missed the poll above. Silly me. Sorry for wasting time there but thank you! Still, wasn't sure how substantially better Shout's is compared to the Lionsgate release.

No problem, the Lionsgate has a very dark and sort of monochrome color grading which makes everything look lifeless. The Shout! restores some of the color back without looking too bright compared to the 2007 Bluray or 25th anniversary DVD from 2003. Also the Lionsgate lacks the true mono audio track while Shout! Factory includes it, just a bit "filtered" but not a big problem if you aren't too familiar with the laserdisc mono track. Its better than nothing.
