Just an aside... I think that in an of itself, the Atmos mix is a good MIX - of what it is.

Unfortunately it's based on an extremely revisionist (and I can be quite forgiving of certain revisionisms, especially ones that are motivated by overall quality improvements or achieving a previously unachievable original intent) mix that was done to basically show off what Anchor Bay could do with it, at the expense of the original feel of the film.

I'm all for keeping the Atmos track on the disc as it's certainly enjoyable, but it's not really an accurate representation of the atmosphere that made the movie what it is. And let's not kid ourselves. Halloween is purely driven by style and mood. It has NO plot, the characters are as basic as they get (fortunately Donald Pleasence and my self-proclaimed friend Jamie Lee Curtis are excellent at bringing the characters to vivid life; no we don't know each other well but she does know and seem to like me)... So changing then atmosphere fundamentally changes the film. Therefore, bungling the mono track is disappointing. However, omitting it altogether is unacceptable (i.e. the Lionsgate UHD and the 2013 BD*). Kudos to Shout for making the mono the default track, however neutered that particular master may be

* I hate shit-talking that disc for two reasons. For the time the transfer was stunning and still holds up. Personal feelings on the color grade aside, it was the first time we got to see the filmic beauty of the film. The other reason? Well, it was my Blu-ray debut thanks to JLC. Of course, other than her doc's inclusion on the Lionsgate UHD and Shout UHD/BD set, it's the only time I have ever or will ever appear on a disc. Lol I hate cameras.

There's a series of shots about halfway through the documentary where she says "oh that was from Roadgames.". The surrounding shots are of me moving through the line and of her handing me back the signed photo with a proud smirk. She wrote "Josh, my friend. JCurtis" and was gauging my reaction.

We had met a couple months before and she recognized me and got all excited. I gained her respect by wearing a name tag (she has an affinity for them). She also informed me on our first meeting that she would be doing a documentary. Hating cameras (and being anorexic then) I told her I didn't want to appear. I spent two days at that event dodging cameras. Unfortunately, Kelly Curtis and her husband caught pretty much every time I was off-guard. There's even one shot where I'm on the left of the frame looking like "please get that thing away from me."

Oh I'm hard to miss. The scrawny guy with bad hair (nervousness = sweat = bye-bye hair style) in a blue plaid shirt. And then the shot toward the end of them lining up the photo op people. I'm sitting to the left in a black tee.

I was 22 in that documentary. Yet somehow I think I look younger now haha.

It's too bad you never found the time to come up with any real answers, about that Staying Alive UHD. You seem real bitter about it too.
