They should just wait until the last season and push out 1 set. I really think buying season 1 will be a waste like Sopranos.

Absolutely want to upgrade Game of Thrones to 4K. Will wait until either more seasons come out or an entire box set. I could see a 4K box set coming out when Season 8 gets released in 2019.

Will likely be a bit too pricey to upgrade these from blu initially. Plus not really itching to re-watch them for a while.

I'll wait till the last season is done and hopefully a reasonably priced boxed set will do for me.

The S7 blu rays looked gorgeous. Almost 4K levels of beautiful.

I'm waiting for the eventual complete series box. If the price for the 4K set is decent I might consider if not I'll just go blu. I don't usually buy TV series that have to be watched in sequence as I'm not sure how many times I would want to binge watch the entire series.

Will this be including the blu-rays, or is it just UHD discs?

Imagine how big the final box set will be if they include both types...

Hopefully the Dolby Atmos is on by default unlike the blurays.

Must be BD-100s then if they're including the extras but not Blu-rays.

Vision + Atmos = very nice!

Vision and Atmos? Safe to say that will apply to all future seasons.

Now this is going to get expensive.

It's a shame that shows like Deadwood and Carnivāle never got proper conclusions. I would have been interested in seeing those older HBO series on UHD. Maybe not John From Cincinnati...

I don't think it specifies that. Besides what I posted earlier, this is what was written on Whysoblu:
Quote:
Relive the warmer days and calmer nights of Westeros when Game of Thrones: Season 1 makes its highly-anticipated debut on 4K Ultra HD optimized for Dolby Vision High Dynamic Range on June 5th from HBO Home Entertainment. Heralded as an “HBO triumph” (Boston Globe), Season 1 of the visually stunning fantasy epic, described as a “menacing, brutal and complex solid start” (The Guardian), includes all 10 episodes beautifully redone in 4K format to give fans the ultimate clarity and detail on HDR TVs.

A perfect gift for Father’s Day or way to kick off summer break, the 4K Ultra HD format for Game of Thrones: Season 1 comes with eye-catching key art featuring the iconic, all-powerful Iron Throne. With this release, fans and those new to the series alike can now catch more than 600 minutes of one of the most critically acclaimed first seasons of episodic television in striking clarity. In addition to Season 1 episodes, fans can go beyond what started it all, with hours of gripping bonus features, from behind-the-scenes, making-of sequences, audio commentaries and much more.

I just checked, and the cast auditions looks to be a brand-new inclusion. No retailer exclusives have been carried over, so you'll need to hold onto them if you're a completionist.

Would love to pick this up on 4K, but I'll hold out for a full series 4K boxset.
