Can someone please confirm the BD disc types? Think we are dealing with BD-100 again.

lol okay man.

As for THE LAST JEDI, I'm not advocating "running people off social media" or bothering to badger an actress, but on the flipside they are also, clearly, using a few crazy people (which in the big picture is all it is) as a deflection for the fact they made a lousy POS product -- which we see all the time now in this industry. Cast and director of GHOSTBUSTERS blames "sexist male fanboys" for the fact their movie stinks. Cast of OCEAN'S 8 blames "white male film critics" for low ratings. On and on. If public figures cant accept criticism for the failure of their own output, they shouldn't be in the business, not when you hear from tens of thousands of fans online on these platforms, and are guaranteed to run into some nuts no matter where you go. Especially when they make garbage like THE LAST JEDI and expect everyone to love it.

Now back to MI...lol.

Chris McQuarrie's responses on Twitter are gold.

Definitely seeing this in IMAX for sure. Won't make the same mistake with Ghost Protocol.

I wanna go IMAX 2D for consistency, but this being the first 3D one is tempting me...

You're mistaking YOUR OPINION as "fact".

Then to gall to say "**** you" to the studio who did an incredible job on the releases. You're part of the problem.

Oh look, another cheapskate who wants everything for free. It's like the stupid Star Wars fans bullying actors off social media because they didn't get the movie THETY wanted.

It appears all the initial haters who swore these would be terrible presentations with "DNR" (as people who have no clue love to throw around) are upset they are actually fantsastic releases, and have to find something else to complain about. So it's cost, when though the quality and care that went into these discs are well worth the price. Outrage culture just has to find something to b*tch about 24/7.

What a sad and sorry world.
Who cares I can stick with the old DVDs and Blu-rays for all it matters at the end of the day it's our hard earned money price drops will eventually happened.

Then the studios will think nothing of going totally digital or streaming. Why bother doing another release on 4K, 8K, or 84K? They've already got it on DVD and Blu-ray. Why put in all the effort and money? They won't spend any of their money to buy it unless it cheap. But, god forbid, we the studio go cheap on our home video presentation. If we do, they'll have their pitchforks and torches ready. Let's give the studio ammo for the gun aimed at physical media while we're at it.

I’m hoping for IMAX 3D especially since so many scenes were filmed in native 3D. Otherwise I’ll just see it in both IMAX and 3D separately.

Um...I thought that they didn't shoot this in 3D after all? I think it's there on McQuarrie's Twitter somewhere.

[edit] Yes, it was on Twitter but the link I had is dead, McQuarrie said that they didn't shoot in native 3D for "technical reasons", though it's been post converted obvs

Yeah, it's just a coincidence y'all get super annoyed at movies that flip male protagonists for female ones!

GHOSTBUSTERS isn't a very good movie, OCEAN'S 8 is a fun lightweight one, and THE LAST JEDI is great. But even if all three were god-awful, none of them would be deserving of the stupid man-child responses.

Society is passing these people up, and they're thrashing around crying their eyes out about it. It's hilarious.

I saw Ghost Protocol in IMAX twice. First time with a buddy, and during the movie I was like, man, I gotta get my folks to this. So went again with them the following week. It was such an incredible experience. A great movie on its own that also really benefited from IMAX.

This won't be the same thing, though (well, if you saw it in a real IMAX theater). I think those days are pretty much gone. If Fallout had sequences that would actually fill an old-school real IMAX screen, this would be a no brainer. As it is, I have to choose between Dolby Atmos/Dolby Vision and open-matte "IMAX". Who knew the day would come where seeing a movie in a 1.90:1 aspect ratio would be a selling point (and that the format once synonymous with "huge" would become synonymous with it)?
