If it's a Criterion mono mix... it's a miracle!

Really, really hoping Arrow or Second Sight gets at least the original in the UK because all we have in the US is Shout/Scream Factory and they’re showing more and more every day with each release that they give less and less of a shit about what they release. Anyone in that company who truly cared at all about physical media is long gone. They’re nothing but a corporate conglomerate now.

It can be done. Check out the very end of this video.

I have wondered what logos would’ve played in front of the film in the US in 1978. It was distributed independently, with a couple different small distributors, depending on the region (which doesn’t happen anymore).

I don’t know who’s there now, but I know the key people that were there for years are gone.

Does anyone know if there’s supposed to be a meaning behind the part where Michael turns on the light then off again in the Wallace house after he kills Bob and Lynda? I assume there’s some kind of meaning behind that.

It was distributed by Compass, and by Aquarius Releasing on the east coast. There's a print scan online and it opens with the Compass logo. So far I don't know of any other opening logo examples for the USA.

I think it's just supposed to be spooky. He's moving stuff around in the house, preparing his "gags"; probably needed to get Bob's body out of the closet where he stashed him and needed some light for a second. The spookiness, obviously, is that Laurie can see that SOMEone is moving around in there -- and only WE know that it's not her buddies.

That's Michael asking Laurie to join the party.

Hey guys, I've been out of the loop. Which one is the best release of John Carpenter's Halloween? Which is most representative of the original theatrical color?

That’s how I always interpreted it. That Michael was expecting Laurie to look at the house right then and think her friends were messing around with her, and this was his way of luring her to the house. No idea if that was the intention.

He could always ask Dean Cundey, but I think he’s changed his mind at least three times.
