Thank you.

FFS. Bunch of bloody clueless clowns.

They need to do replacement discs.

It's obvious the powers that be at Lionsgate don't know what they are doing and know very little about film and film preservation.

How long do we think Lionsgate will own the rights to Halloween?

And you would think, if they would just do their due diligence, they wouldn't need to do replacement disks. Get it right the first time and you won't have to waste time and money fixing a mistake that should've never happened.

Probably not the best use of $10 but for this title it's worth it if they deliver with the 4k quality.
Curious...Did your copy arrive yesterday?

Fantastic. Don’t even have it yet, and already feeling some disappointment. If this truly is the case, guess I’ll hang onto my Blu-ray then too if that’s the only way to get “true original” mono. Otherwise, to echo others, hope Lionsgate do a replacement program.

You guys are getting worked up over nothing. I’m willing to bet cash money that the Scream! box didn’t have lossless either. Lionsgate probably sent them the same lossy file. And all Scream! did was drag it into a DTS-MA timeline and re-encode it into lossless to fool everyone. They’ve been known to do that and are not the only label to play tricks on unsuspecting movie fans.

Lossless isn’t the issue. A 7.1 remix down converted into a mono track is the issue.

I won’t get worked up over that either until I have a chance to verify it myself or it’s done by someone more competent than Bill Hunt.

Nice try, but Scream had nothing to do with the disc of the original that was Anchor Bay aka Lionsgate

Lionsgate isn’t going to do replacement discs, they didn’t for the 35th anniversary edition. Really doubt they do it here.

Now's the time for them to finally step up and do things right then. 5 years later.

Yeah it’s baffling that they finally got it right for the boxed set, and now go back to a fold down for the UHD.

See, this is why I held off pre-ordering!

Looks like I'll be hanging on to my 2007 Blu-ray for a little while longer...

Meh, I'll still get the 4K. Someone will make a remux with the lossless true mono track.

Not that I find his posts credible.
I'm sure you're aware that some people do receive releases a week or two before release date. I know someone who received a copy on September 15th and we watched it the following day. You don't have to find my post credible if you don't want to, that's your decision.

Well, if Bill Hunt is correct, thanks Lionsgate for doing your research and slapping on a fold down as your mono mix.

While I can live with remixes there's a several important movies where I am adamant about watching in their original mono mix. Halloween is one. So Scream Factory it is. Or if someone has a UHD drive and capable to mux I'll seek that out.
