The 4K finish was already confirmed. But here's a lot more talk on Joker:

I'm calling bulls--t on that. I don't think movies like Steel Magnolias, Philadelphia, Schindler's List, 9 To 5, Straight Talk, Rhinestone, Stop or my Mom Will Shoot, Gone With the Wind, JFK, Field of Dreams, or The English Patient would benefit at all from 3D. And it would just look weird to boot.

I'm sure the director of "The Painted Bird" would agree with you as well.

The English Patient in 3D actually could've looked pretty good. The way that movie was shot, a lot of those compositions could really take advantage of the third dimension. Not that they'd ever convert it, especially with Minghella gone.

You know they will. And they'll be *****ing about it.

Of course, they will. And they'll probably demand their money back too. It seems you can't walk two feet with running into stupid.

WOW!!! That sounds rough. I'm not sure anything could help. Kudos for the director to make a movie like this and not wavier on the uncomfortable parts. Movies like this can very difficult viewings, but also necessary at the same time. Almost unflinching in a lot of ways. Sometimes though we need these reminders in order for us to do better by and towards others.

This must be the first and only time in the existence of recorded humanity that Schindler's List and Stop or.my Mom will Shoot will ever get mentioned in the same sentence. Hat's off to you for that.

Thanks. Someday I will have both in my collection. On 4K and Blu-ray (though I do hope for a 4K of Stop or my Mom Will Shoot to come out) no less. I'm weird that way. Not that the movie is really good, but I am a sucker for stupid, silly movies. It's a great way to turn off the brain and forgot about life for a couple of hours. It's odd, but I find those types of movies far more enjoyable and watchable than a lot of what other people like to watch over and over.

Excited to see this! The weird mix of reviews has only piqued my curiosity further since the initial teaser trailer. Got an early evening showing, so less than 24 hours from now. Thinking at the very least, it'll worth seeing for Joaquin Phoenix's performance.

It's interesting that you don't actually given a reason in your post, you just say it would look weird. Does the world look weird to you? You view everyday life in 3D. Maybe you should start wearing an eye patch, if you dislike seeing things in 3D so much. Any movie can benefit from 3D. In fact any entertainment shown on a screen can benefit from 3D but this is all off topic anyway so it's a pointless discussion to hold here.

Tell that to Adult films. The 3D on those was always offputting and the movie didn't benefit from it at all.

Ok. Joker would look awful in 3D. 4K is better. There. On topic. Work for ya?
