My copy finally arrived today after a whole month in transit. Bloody xmas shoppers!
Like the slip on this one. Uni and Paramount does the best slips IMO. Will watch later today
Edit: Watched and the picture quality is fantastic. Dolby Vision is the star of this presentation. The movie itself is decent, nothing more, but visually this is eye candy from start to finish. Colors in particular stand out. That is the big upgrade over the blu-ray.

While the HDR on this disc does look very appealing--the cinematography can be a bit intrusive sometimes. I've never liked anamorphic lenses--but the glass that David Leitch ops to shoot on, is some of the ugliest looking lens work I've seen in recent memory.

Movie is also really, really awful. When I watched this last night, I was ready to check out by the 50-minute mark. It's such an unnecessarily long film. This should've been 90-minutes long and not a second longer.

I honestly think it was Ryan Reynolds' voice.
Leading up to the release, weren't there rumors that
[Show spoiler]Leitch wanted Keanu Reeves to show up in a post-credits scene, as a potential baddie?

I purchased the film for $15 (almost $10 ) on iTunes during Black Friday, but the disc remained above $25.

which rank?

AV is right up *there for digitally captured movies.

ranks fairly low in "list of the most important films in history", lol.

one of the most satisfying entertainment flicks of 19 for me, and that is subjective.

Very low. I knew what to expect, but this just crossed a certain line with me. Would've worked with me as a short, R-Rated action flick, but this is too long and "epic", too "clean", IMO takes itself too seriously (the "family" bullshit for ex) to accept the ridiculous action and bored the shit out of me near the end. The movie actually made me question why the f I'm spending money on such family friendly Hollywood action crap. I'll be watching "The Predator" again over this any day.

For those who care: There are plenty of animated titles and some yellow, burnt-in English subs for Russian dialogue that may be missing on the non-US releases.

Yeah. It's such a **** awful movie.

Between this and Deadpool 2, we definitely know now Chad Stahelski has always been the brains behind John Wick.

I didn't like John Wick 3 either at any rate. Awful cash grab in my book. The one good thing about John Wick 3 is that it brought "The Villainess" to my attention.

Jesus, this must be stupendously awful to prefer watching The Predator over it.

I have to add, that I actually liked "The Predator" though. And my opinions are often also not the most popular ones.

Wasn't sure you remembered.

And yes, it is stupendously stupid (Hobbs I mean). Which isn't my issue though - I do like "The Predator" after all. The problem with Hobbs is that I can only handle stupid for so long. If it was (much) shorter, I might've enjoyed it.

To also drop the hyperbole, my 'awful' is still maybe a very generous 6/10, and there was also stuff I liked, but it was just way too looooooooooong - everything here was way too looooooooong. Remove the fast pacing and the R-Rated from "The Predator" and I'd consider that one a failure as well.

But as I said: Just my opinion.

I haven't seen H&S yet but yeah, I can appreciate what people are saying about the running time as I had the same reaction when I first heard about it (it's like they've released the goofy 'extended version' first ). I hope to be pleasantly surprised when I finally watches it, precious.

Heh, Shane Black was reportedly considered for Hobbs and Shaw for a minute.

The studio must’ve caught wind about how abominable The Predator was shaping up to be, and wised up

I don't blame Shane-o for La Predator, the first half is typical Shane Black and I enjoyed it very much in that respect, the second half however is an utter trainwreck that was hacked up and reshot and saddled with a piss-poor ending. As soon as we see them in a Winnebago full of guns that literally appears from nowhere and no-one even questioning where it came from I thought to myself "uh oh, we're in trouble!".

I’m confused; are the animated titles and subs missing, or the Russian dialogue itself? I assume the former, but wanted to make sure. What countries would they do that in? Those that speak fluent Russian?

What I meant is that there are burnt-in subs and that the burnt-in subs might be player generated subs instead on the non-US releases. Because that's what Universal tends to do.
