You do know Disney+ (like many streaming services right now) are only doing well because of the pandemic? Once the pandemic hit, streaming subscriptions climbed rapidly (according to a vast number of reports). There has been internal concerns throughout the industry on when the pandemic ends how many subscribers will stay. Many are expecting a significant decline for a variety of reasons.

Also, Disney isn't as successful as they want people to believe by any means. The company is hurting in a vast array of areas as I could point out a ton of areas of where they are failing and are financially hurting significantly. Just to name one mere example is the fact, Disney is financially hurting with the property of Star Wars as the merchandise has been rapidly declining for the past decade (it has Disney executives internally highly concerned); the remodeling at Disney World's Hollywood Studios theme park with their Star Wars section has been a financial failure, & the list goes on. Many don't realize that former CEO Bob Iger set the company up to fail in the long-term, they're business model has significant long-term failure probabilities (which on a personal note, I hope it does fail). Iger & the board of directors turned Disney into a corporate shell of itself after Roy E. Disney died in 2009 from stomach cancer as the Disney family no longer has control. The remaining Disney family members particularly, Walt Disney's only daughter Susan Disney Brown (I believe that's her name) has expressed a number of disappointments in what's happened with her father's company.

Did you pick up the new digibook? I definitely feel your pain but the digi is pretty nice and maybe you can throw the disc in there? I hope they don't reuse that old cover art that the original BD release had.

There will never, I mean never, be a movie like The Ten Commandments.

The level of production value for the time will never be exceeded.

It would be the equivalent of a billion dollar movie today.

Yes - I could see Paramount springing for an Atmos remix on this one.

How is this not coming out of Paramount Presents? I don't know the details on this release but I think this movie would have to either be split on a two-disc set (2 BD-100) or have to suffer some compression. With the upcoming digibook Collector's Edition you are getting both the 1923 and 1956 films, plus a 16-page booklet with rare photos and background about the films. Don't see the 4K version ever getting any of that. Has Paramount ever released anything with only 4K disks and a digital code? Now if they throw in the bonus disk from the digibook version including the 1923 film, that would resolve some of my thoughts and concerns. I still think Paramount has two different target groups in mind here. I guess all of that would preclude me from pre-ordering either version while awaiting reports and "honest" reviews from you guys!

I think its one of those truly prestigious films in their library.

But this is still cause for celebration all the way.

If you're talking about this set, it came out last year.

Sorry. My mental calandar was stuck in 2020. Either way, I hate when companies try forcing double dips to acquire content. I still think distributers are targeting 2 separate groups. Collectors vs techs.

Due to my digital shift, I have bought this on iTunes for $4.99 recently. I am sure it will be auto upgraded to 4K DV closer to the physical release.

The HD version looks great. I am sure the 4K will look even better.

It's not a joke if it's true.

Is there a down vote button on here? You haven't heeded anyone's warnings about purchasing digital stuff to make a movie collection, have you?
