We'll get Force Awakens and Rogue One at some point most likely (probably around the time Solo is released if not before). Definitely before Episode 9 is released.

As for the other six, maybe sometime in 2020 once Disney gets the physical distribution rights for 1-3 and 5-6.

Yep -Im not buying anything SW related in 4K until they all come out in the inevitable big-box set. I dont care about the unaltered originals, but episodes 1-9 have to be available along with Rogue 1. Then, Im in.

Not surprising, but good news nonetheless.

Now to decide whether or not I should buy this UHD on its own, or just wait til all the Star Wars episodes are available in a UHD boxset.

Episodes II and III were shot digitally on CineAlta cameras of the time, the ones used on Episode II were not even Full HD as they had a resolution of 1920x800 something. Have a watch at the BD for Episode II and see how soft and fuzzy it looks.

Yeah but HDR can still offer an improvement. And Episode I has a LOT to gain on UHD, mainly the film grain and details that were scrubbed away during the 3D conversion. Hope that doesn't become another T2 situation.

I say wait. Im gonna - despite the obvious temptations to buy the single, newer releases in UHD when they come out.

Its going to happen - meaning some monster-ass box set.... we know it is.

It's funny how the justice league thread got tons of hate as it wasn't in theatres yet but not as much hate here because it's star wars..but it doesn't come out for over a month!

Damn got excited for a second, thought this was TFA UHD

I'm bout ready to cave and buy in 3D, seems like a UHD release to tie in with new movie makes perfect sense tho??

Star Wars actually has a preorder up however unlike Justice League.

3D on TFA is pretty decent, I got the collectors edition too, and that case is neat, I might put the 4k blu ray in it when they release it.
