Not sure how popular this title is going to be, pretty sure most of the die-hard 3D fans have already imported the region-free version from Panamint ages ago. Might pick up some noir stragglers though...

THE MAN IN THE MOON (1991) BLU-RAY - May 16th

WHO’LL STOP THE RAIN (1978) BLU-RAY - May 16th

INFERNO 3D (1953) BLU-RAY - May 16th

THE STONE KILLER (1973) BLU-RAY - May 16th

BRUTAL TALES OF CHIVALRY (aka SHOWA ZANKYO DEN, 1965) BLU-RAY - May 16th

THE BRIDGE AT REMAGEN (1969) BLU-RAY - June 13th

THE QUIET AMERICAN (1958) BLU-RAY - June 13th

HELL AND HIGH WATER (1954) BLU-RAY - June 13th

THE VALACHI PAPERS (1972) BLU-RAY - June 13th

SNAKE IN THE EAGLE’S SHADOW (1978) / DRUNKEN MASTER (1978) BLU-RAY - June 13th

Another strong two months. Two Charles Bronson's (one with Lino Ventura), some yakuza, some chop-socky, Audie Murphy in the first screen version of Graham Greene's classic novel of the French-Indochina War (with exterior scenes filmed in late 1950s Saigon), Robert Ryan and Rhonda Fleming in a searing 3D desert-noir, Reese Witherspoon and Tess Harper in a coming of age drama, more Nick Nolte and Tuesday Weld, one of the great classic WWII films.....and best of all, more Sam Fuller.
Nice. Who'll Stop the Rain and The Bridge at Remagen are both day one for me. Rain is a terrific noir. I won't say neo-noir, because it has all the elements: disillusioned war vet, a buddy in a fix, a femme fatale, corrupt cops, and murder. Remagen is one of my favorite WWII films. I just hope the transfer is spruced up for this release. The last time I saw it on cable it looked very soft, even for a film of that era.

Twilight Time is killing it lately, at least for me. There's at least one film in each of the next months that are day one purchases for me. I just hope that they continue the $5 discount for new releases. That would help offset shipping costs.

And we know what version that would be: the somewhat controversial 2005 Special Edition Re-cut. I'm fine with this because Paul Seydor had the resources to make that cut of the film. The Peckinpah Preview/1988 Turner Cut of the film looked pretty good on the DVD SE, minus mainly the color boost given the Re-cut, but both are better that the original theatrical cut. I'd like to see a Twilight Time/Shout!/Criterion type release with both (or all three) versions in a comprehensive special edition Blu-ray.

I already own the region free Panamint Cinema Blu-ray of Inferno 3D, but I might double-dip if the extras are cool. I'm a big fan of film noir and of Rhonda Fleming.

Count me in for The Stone Killer and The Valachi Papers. Possibly for Hell and High Water and The Quiet American as well!

Yeah Vampires is a tough one. It's definitely not one of Carpenter's best but it is entertaining. James Woods owns the film and I enjoy Daniel Baldwin's performance too. Without Woods though I think it would be pretty forgettable. I give the action vampire film award to the fantastic From Dusk till Dawn. Not a Blade fan for the record.

I guess I could flip them if I want to. Looks like they are going for more than what I paid on eBay.
It could be a gamble with these outside the US releases of Twilight Time blu rays. The new Hard Times release is supposed to be 4K apparently but the TT transfer is already gorgeous. The region free release of 1988's The Blob is supposed to have some transfer issues but Twilight Time's transfer is stellar and if you're a fan of the original Blob Criterion has a great transfer for it.

I'd probably get Hell and High Water. Not my favorite Sam Fuller film, but its a fun cold war Cinemascope romp.

Extremely happy about Man In The Moon!!! Now if I could just get The Cure (1995), my collection of underrated 90s coming-of-age dramas would be complete! (Maybe.)

When do pre-orders generally go up? I've got some things I'd like to get at Screen Archives, but I might wait if the pre-orders are going up soon.

I like Ghosts of Mars better, it is at least cheesy fun. Vampires is full of really unlikable characters. Woods is the only entertaining thing about the movie.

You might have better luck in the Criterion thread for that one. Twilight Time has never released a Universal catalog title.

Two weeks before street date is the usual, I think. For example, their 3/14 releases are going to PO-able on 3/1.

From that list, I'll pick up Who'll Stop the Rain once it's on sale, and wait and see what Indicator does with Stone Killer and/or Hell and High Water. I already have the UK disc of Inferno (signed by Ms. Rhonda Fleming!).

Never really saw it in Noir terms, but yeah there are some elements to it that are part and parcel of that sensibility- the fatalism inherent in the protagonists flight to safety; a worldview that is full of corruption- not only from the opening Viet-nam scenes to the corrupt cops that are pursuing him, but also in the upper middle class set looking for kicks, amongst other things.

It seems to get lost in the crowd I guess because the 70's were full of intelligent, adult-minded films, but this is one of my absolute favorites of that great decade.

If I didn't already have the UK release, I would also be all over Inferno.
People who have never seen it before are in for a real treat- especially if they have access to 3D viewing. Although also classified by some as a noir (it has the scheming wife, her killer boyfriend, etc) I would say what it most resembles is a post war Men's Adventure magazine.

That or Shout Factory. It would make a good Shout Select candidate.

I'm not really all that thrilled by these announcements frankly. The Stone Killer is good but I didn't like the Valachi Papers all that much. Who'll Stop The Rain looks interesting but I'd have to check it out before buying.

Hell And High Water & Inferno for me.

Bronsons at a later sale or before they go OOP.

Others, maybe a much later sale or bundle.
