SAE Shipping Rate Policy:
"USA: $6.40 for the first disc and $2.00 for each additional disc. Don't forget to add $2.00 for each disc in multiple CD sets." ...not saying it's not high, just putting it out there for those who are curious. |

There's also this news update from back in January: Quote:

So from before you edited your post, in short order, it went from 48 to 45 to 0. Incidentally, I can confirm that SAE's inventory system is instantaneous. Do the 50-check method, assuming it's less than 50 place an order, do the 50-check method again, and you'll see your order quantity has been immediately deducted from the inventory. So did 45 people all suddenly rush to the site? Or, more likely, I wouldn't be surprised if a single reseller bought all 45 copies at once. |

Even knowing about the blatant racism in the movie, I decided at the price point, the praised first part of the movie would be enough of an attraction. I could see myself down the line getting other D.W. Griffith movies and regretting not buying BoaN. The release also seemed to be a well-rounded package, which would give an appropriate context to the film. I thought it was a better package in that regard than the Kino version, for instance, and probably better than any subsequent release. |

People are most likely worried the film will join the ranks of the permanently disappeared soon. Eskimo Pies just bit the dust.

I've just paid anothe £12 in tax for my 3rd TT direct order. It means I get it on Tuesday. Ordering direct via TT has proven significantly more expensive for me than SAE.

But I could see, that many BD collectors see that the Twilight of physical media is actually dawning and quite a few titles could also be seen as not appropriate anymore. The current health crisis also fasten this situation. Here in Germany the last huge brick & mortal chain announced that they will close almost half of their currently remaining stores. I think we will see many, many more closing companies during the next few months and years, especially companies which are mainly dealing with physical non-essential goods. I bought BOAN already a couple of months ago, because one could see, that the company was struggling and I cannot see another company will give this title a grand release on physical media anytime soon ever again. I also bought many Fox titles, because I actually don´t think Disney will be interested to re-release most of the Fox back-catalog physical anymore. The current situation will also speed up those trends. The Streaming and VoD releases will become even more important and lucrative for them. I also bought movies like Tropic Thunder and The Blue Lagoon. I think those kind of movies will be seen as liabilities by their right holders very, very soon and maybe not worth the potentially trouble to release or deal with them at all anymore. |

Also, just like music still exists on physical media and the existence of vinyl records is a clear indication that movies will keep on being released on discs so those who keep on saying it will happen just need to stop trying to will it into existence. |

I'm now up to 6 orders from TT and 11 from SAE, for a total of 73 titles. Just anxiously awaiting the announcement of those archive titles... - First order: TT #720xx, ordered 5/10 - Last order: TT #797xx, ordered 6/21 So by my count, TT has had about 7,700 orders since the start of the sale. |
