I think they mean Ken Loach's drama about a German singer not the HBO adaptation of Robert Harris's book with Rutger Hauer. If you like what if films try low budget gem It Happened Here, available on DVD or Len Deighton's excellent book SS-GB. I'm amazed that was never filmed.

Riff-Raff is good but the only one I'll actually buy is Angel.

The product page for "Oliver!" says the isolated music track will have sound effects. Very disappointing that for a musical they couldn't get an actual isolated score track.

The product page for "Jane Eyre" says "WE HAVE BROUGHT THIS FILM TO BLU-RAY USING THE BEST SOURCE MATERIAL AVAILABLE."

Does "best" mean really "the best"? Or does it mean, "Hey, that's the best we could do," implying that it's not really that great but "we tried"?

I'm a long-time Harryhausen fan (about 40 years). I would say that 'Golden Voyage' is, but you might want to watch 'Eye of the Tiger' before making a purchase. To me the story is weak, and the animation looks 'wrong' because there is so much LARGE fur on the creatures they look awkward instead of his usual graceful movement [e.g. a sabre-tooth tiger with fur the equivalent of a foot long and as stiff as elephant hair bristles].

That page explains the situation very clearly: As the separate music stems have not survived, the isolated score track from Oliver! has been prepared from the restored 4.0 MAG M&E -- which means that while the music sounds wonderful, there are sound effects present throughout.

If the original stems are gone, they're gone. I'm not really sure what more you want.

Pre-ordered Jane Eyre. Was surprised to see it actually has a fair amount of special features, including a couple commentaries. I would have been happy with just the Isolated Score Track for Bernard Herrmann's score so everything else is a nice bonus.

Ah, yeah I guess you're right for the most part, unless 4dvd tinker about at the encoding stage.

Twilight Time usually puts the signed discs up at a later time, but there is one exception, Journey to the Center of the Earth. This copy wasn't a free promo either, but $29.95.

That pre-order day, April 13, 2012, was brutal as the TT's server was terribly inadequate for the surge in business. I tried to buy a copy, but could never get the site to work. Ended up getting a regular copy an hour later.
