That's a little unusual. The UPS part of the trip is essentially like Ground--depending on where you are, it's an up to five-day process. But once tendered to USPS it should be delivered within a day (although I am experiencing delays recently right at this handoff stage). I finally received my copy of Oliver. It took 15 days to get it. I don't mind paying the premium for the blu's plus the shipping charge, but I think this is a tad slow to get something in the mail. I had a similar problem (though not as bad shipping wise) when I bought something before from Twilight.

I would let SAE know your feelings on the matter. When I can get a UK order from Eureka in 5 business days a U.S. Order first class mail should not take longer than 5 business days. However I do appreciate the BLUs shipping in a box opposed to a yellow envelope and I know these materials cost money. I think SAE are trying their best to get their orders out to customers but it hasn't been the most convenient for some.

Well, what happened was that the blu got shipped UPS...then got transferred over to USPS for delivery. I am not sure why that was, but it was. This is the second time this has happened with ordering from SAE. This was the worst experience though. I know its a small company, and maybe it was the fault of UPS, but its darn annoying.

UPS transferred your shipment to the USPS because SAE used the UPS Mail Innovations service.

I received Oliver from Amazon UK today exactly 8 days from the day it shipped. From the UK to the US in 7 fewer days than SA. What a joke SA

Actually, based on recent movies like Mindwarp and The Way We Were and Oliver!, their cart numbers seemed to be pretty accurate for a few days (like in the 2500 range) before suddenly dropping by 1000 or so. I'm guessing that's when some of it got shipped to TCM.

Well the sinbad movies are staying at SA, they learned from the body double fiasco. Al limiting them to 2 per customer now.

Not quite a fair comparison. When Warner releases a movie, it's effectively going to go to pretty much every Best Buy, Target, and Wal-Mart on the planet. When Twilight releases a title, it goes to one on-line dealer. Any of the Warner titles would probably sell 3000 units fairly quickly because of its much wider distribution.

The problem is Warner has to be convinced that they'll sell enough units to make it worth going through the trouble of producing the disc. The other problem is that Warner has what it arguably the greatest vintage film library in existence (their own film library, plus the RKO film library, plus the pre-1986 MGM film library). And a lot of those films are ones that a lot of people would love to have. So it's all a matter of prioritizing. Even if they released one catalog title on BD every day, it would be a long time before they managed to release all of the films they own that deserve to be released.

Warner already knows, they have been releasing some catalog titles, and they have the hard numbers, and it hasn't convinced them. There is nothing more that I would like than to be bombarded with titles from WB's catalog, sadly it's not happening, and they have the largest vintage catalog of any studio as you say. I had such high hopes when they announced the Archive Collection, and so far it's been a great let down. A perfect example of a great catalog release The right Stuff, not a single store in my area carries it, not even the 2 mega Walmarts, or Best Buy, in fact I work in Toronto (city of the crack smoking Mayor) and visited quite a few stores there as well and was unable to find it.

My hope is that WB finally opens it eyes and opens the flood gates, but as more stores shrink their media sections, it only reinforces their position. Maybe I'm wrong and what I have been seeing is a problem that is only systemic in Canada.

On a happier note I ordered both Sinbad Movies and Oliver, I'm doing my part.

Sad but true. Most B&M stores do not stock catalog releases. And it will probably get worse... which only directs the catalog business to Amazon. Thankfully we have Twilight Time. I am very happy to support their effort.

Maybe I'm fortunate but my local Frys Electronics has gotten very good at stocking catalogue titles. Never fails me really. In fact they just overloaded there shelves for the Holiday season already.

I can name a great list of Titles WB released this year alone and not counting what they're distributing for Paramount. The first Qtr. of 2014 has some excellent titles as well. I always scratch my head when people say WB doesn't release multiple catalogue titles in a given year.

I'm very fortunate though as in my area I have a Cosco, Frys, BB, Target, Wal-mart, Barnes and Noble, and two local mom and pop brick and mortar stores all within a 10 mile distance from my home.
