First Men In the Moon is coming in early 2015 from TT ( an old post from TT earlier this year or late last year) ... it wouldn't surprise me if they had Gulliver as well, although Id rather have an uncut blu ray of
One Million Years BC

Possibly. Too soon to discern a clear pattern, but so far, the titles that TT have released have all been from the Orion catalog. And MGM themselves did three of the UA titles and one Orion. It'll be interesting to see if Kino gets some of the other UA titles and TT sticks with the Orions (and the couple of early-90s TriStars)

Pre-orders have been falling on the third Wednesday of the month prior to release, so I would guess September 17th... but keep an eye on the thread for official confirmation of when pre-order dates are announced, the first post is updated to reflect that info.

Well, this news about the 5,000 copies for The Blob should result in quite a bit of increased chatter around these parts.

Pre-orders have been pretty consistently the third Wednesday of the previous month at 4:00pm Eastern. The Blob is an October release, so it's pretty sure to be September 17th.

Intrigued by The Believers, Man Hunt, and Salvador, but I'll try to find them on the cable instead of blind buying them.

My speculation is that TT will re-release.

Great to see Salvador on the slate. Man Hunt was disappointing, especially since I'm a huge Lang fan. Interested in Under Fire and maybe Dogs Of war. Haven't seen Killer Elite, but you knew it was coming - Redman is a huge Peckinpah fan.

I'll buy Man Hunt (despite two supporting characters/performances that grate on me - Joan Bennett's awful, sentimentalized Cockney streetwalker and Roddy McDowell's Earnest Young Lad) and probably The Believers, but the rest are all passes. So, there's no AIP horror film(s) on the fall slate after all? As far as I know, Audrey Rose isn't AIP.

Though I’m only 34, my favorite period of films, by far, are the 1950s or earlier. I will definitely get Man Hunt, but only have a very mild interest in a few of any of the others. I hope you other folks enjoy them though.

However, this month’s releases, with Heaven Knows, Man from Laramie, and The Train, were outstanding.
I've given up on Twilight Time, they started off so good, now most of their releases are of little interest to me.

Kino is getting the better UA titles, and Fox pulled all 70MM films after they saw how good "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" looked on Blu-ray (Thanks to Fox the remaining 70MM titles will be released at a much lower price and most likely sooner than if through TT)

Sony has all but abandoned Blu-ray though Criterion is getting the better Sony Titles and others are available in Germany (Same transfers as TT and cheaper prices) Probably order "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" through Germany and many some other Columbia titles (My German "Oliver" disc was the same as TT (The TT disc even started up the same place I stopped the German disc)

"The China Syndrome" is available in Germany, I suggest ordering from Amazon Germany - if TT ever releases it it will be the same transfer (and more expensive) and you won't have to wait four years

I'm assuming he'll be recording a commentary?

Correct. Here's the studio breakdown for the Sep/Oct announcements:

Sony:
La Bamba [Columbia] (Sep)
The Blob [TriStar] (Oct)

Fox:
Che! (Sep)
Man Hunt (Oct)

MGM:
The Killer Elite [United Artists] (Sep)
Salvador [Hemdale] (Sep)
The Dogs of War [United Artists] (Sep)
Audrey Rose [United Artists] (Oct)
The Believers [Orion] (Oct)
Under Fire [Orion] (Oct)

Interesting that there are no British films these two months. Unless you want to count the Irvin and Schlesinger films, since both of those directors are British.

I wonder if they will modify this poster and make it B&W for the cover art (like they did with The Train).

So what was the origin of all the 'AIP horror' talk? Was there an actual quote from TT on the subject?

I remember hearing about First Men in the Moon and thought it was coming this year. I'm probably thinking the same thing you heard but just did not remember the date.
