I imagine the members and estates signed off on this on the agreement that all 4 MUST be made. Period.

They’re all planned to be released in the same year, so it sounds like they’ll all be wrapped up and ready to release by 2027.

Unpopular opinion. The Beatles are one of the most overrated bands of all time. Paul lives up the road from me and I know someone who is pretty entwined with the family. Its bizarre to see how the other half live.

I was just going to post this.

I was obsessed with them when I was younger but much like with Star Wars, I've learned to move on.

Yes, you're right, your opinion is unpopular.

Beatles have some great songs. But they have a lot of very terrible songs.

The Beatles are my all-time favorite band. They never disappointed, or recorded a bad song, in my opinion.

You know, I'm not going to argue with anyone who says they don't personally care for The Beatles' music or whatever.
Everyone has their own taste in music, film, art, food, etc., etc.
However, it is nearly impossible to take any statements like these seriously:

This is like someone proclaiming that William Shakespeare is "one of the most overrated writers of all time".
Or someone claiming that "Albert Einstein wasn't really that smart".
Or even someone stating "Sure, Michelangelo had some great pieces of art but a lot of them are very terrible".

...?

"Yeah, okay buddy, sure. Whatever you say, man."

Again, I fully understand how someone might not enjoy The Beatles' music or even be too impressed by all of their various accomplishments and global/historical impact/significance.
(Especially if, and I truly hate to even say this, said individuals are of a "younger" generation.)
On a personal level as an individual entitled to their own opinions, sure I get that.

But still, comments like "The Beatles are totally overrated" just come off as completely ignorant or someone deliberately attempting to just "stir sh*t up" (or possibly trying to impress someone for whatever reason).

For the record though: I don't mean to call out or show any disrespect towards these specific forum members here so sorry if I did.

Well, I can agree with this Star Wars bit at least.

Odd way of doing it. If there's that much story to tell wouldn't it be better to make it a limited series?

Why did you quote me? I never said they were overrated.

If somebody were to say that every song in their discography was a gem, then yes I would say they were being overrated.

Very curious about the Ringo film. Would love to see the daily routines of Ringo and Barbara and how he got the Larry the Dwarf role in 200 Motels and the pope role in Lisztomania.

(So, what's your point? )

Again, your original statement was exactly this:

My response "in a nutshell" was:
Quote:
Originally Posted by Röckzilla View Post

This is like someone... stating "Sure, Michelangelo had some great pieces of art but a lot of them are very terrible".
...Comments like [that and] "The Beatles are totally overrated" just come off as completely ignorant or someone deliberately attempting to just "stir sh*t up" (or possibly trying to impress someone for whatever reason).
So to answer your question of:

Quote:
Originally Posted by MuffinMcFluffin View Post

Your choice of words ("Beatles have some great songs. But they have a lot of very terrible songs.) implies that only a minority of songs by The Beatles are of "good quality" while the remaining majority of songs by The Beatles are of "inferior/lower/mediocre" quality.

This just seems like an uneducated and/or biased assessment of The Beatles collective body of work as well as its overall global/historical impact and significance.

You might not personally like The Beatles' music and that is perfectly fine.

However, your personal opinion and/or musical taste doesn't change the widely accepted and acknowledged consensus regarding the importance and recognized (high) quality of The Beatles' discography of music (this according to a pantheon of highly-respected fellow musicians, accredited scholars, obsessively astute music fans, and many more people.)

And don't get me wrong here, I never personally said that every single song written and recorded by The Beatles is a "gem" (to use your choice of words).
Additionally, I am not willing to advocate or defend such bold claims in relation to any artist working and creating things in any medium.

But to summarize everything yet again:
Making statements such as "The Beatles have some great songs. But they have a lot of very terrible songs" is like someone proclaiming "Sure, Michelangelo had some great pieces of art but a lot of them are very terrible". Comments such as these are nearly impossible to take seriously, regardless of one's personal tastes and/or opinions, because they just come off as being completely ignorant, lacking validity, or someone deliberately attempting to be inflammatory and/or sound "insightful".

But again, I'm not here to pick fights with anyone here including you.
This post is merely a desperate effort to clarify and explain the initial intentions of my original post.

So in other words: "Peace, man!"
