France vs Argentina was a great game of football yesterday. The goals from Mbappe were superb.

Although the only part of Spain vs Russia that I saw today were the last 2 minutes of ET & the penalties. I also can't believe Spain was knocked out today. Well done to Russian for making those great saves in the goalposts.

Most of the Croatia vs Denmark match was horrible to watch. I missed the awful penalties from both teams earlier as I was in the loo.

I sat out all day yesterday as I was having a bit of a party and never seen a game but came inside today to watch those matches and I wish I had just stayed in the sun.

Indeed, Saturday's games were both entertaining to watch, and I really enjoyed them. Today's matches didn't compare, despite the promising start of the Denmark/Croatia game with a 1-1 score after 4 minutes.

Still sad about the result last night. We FINALLY played a good game against a good opponent and I honestly think we were better than Croatia yesterday. Schmeichel deserved much better but he was let down by tame offensive players. Yussuf Poulsen was good but finishing has been poor all tournament. Eriksen never really showed up either.. Maybe he was effectively shut down or maybe his mind was just on his newborn child.

That final penalty by Jørgensen will haunt me.. It just underlined our lack of a competent striker! Bendtner would not have choked like that.

With Russia in the quarter final, this was the chance for a shot at semi-finals/a bronze game. It will never happen again..

Some of these footballers could take part in the annual cheese rolling competition in Coopers Hill, Gloucester.

His wider punditry is awful but I said that he knew full well about the rigours of these tournaments and he does, having played in several of them. I can still remember seeing his knee unseat itself in slow motion at one tournament or another, was it 2006 I'm thinking of?

Looking forward to today's games, no upsets today though shirley?

Bendtner would've hoiked up his shorts and the sheer magnificence of his Paddy Power undercrackers would've cowed Croatia into submission.

Even though the Blue Samurai are cool by me, I'm rooting for Belgium and Brazil today.
Yesterday I wanted Russia and Denmark.

I dont care what or how they do it. Bendtner has always been clinical and stepped up in difficult games. Jørgensen is the opposite and he has been awful throughout this entire tournament. Even before that as well. I can barely remember him scoring any goals and its not as if his attitude or work rate is carrying the team. He is not a popular man today. Schmeichel, on the other hand.

I hope Japan advances but I really, really don't see it happening. But the odds on Mexico winning are 7,5 - isn't that a bit high? Are Brazil that big favorites?

To quote Han Solo: never tell me the odds. Mainly because I've got no idea how betting works.

We’ll have to agree to disagree again because I ain’t buying it that now a break for a week in football is bad for you.

These are athletes, they’re not the footballers of the 70’s or even 80’s.The Premier League recently announced a two week winter break after years of debating and now someone has thrown a week break is a bad thing I to the mix.

I get the whole mental side of things were you want to play your next game but asI said, there is no way a not playing for six or seven days can have a detrimental effect.

But Owen said that he thought the break was a good thing and I wasn't disagreeing above, just reiterating why Owen might have some genuine insight into this particular phenom. Do you even read my posts before you start arguing the toss?

I can’t even remember who it was now tob, there were quite a few ciders had yesterday but it was one or two of the pundits on ITV after the Denmark match.

I don’t care what Michael Owen said,if you wish to spend your money on the Daily Driffle more power to ya.
I simply stated that I disagreed with what the pundits were saying, that six or seven days rest in football is a bad thing.
You said you were “torn on it”

And you mentioned opinions and mine is like I said that I disagree wholeheartedly that a short break is a bad thing.

I’m not arguing anything other than sticking by with what I said and how I didn’t agree with what had been commented on in the studio post match.

So we're having our own separate conversations again despite replying directly to people, this is the strangest and yet most compulsive thread on this forum.

I fell asleep for the first 15 minutes of this game, the heat is on!
