As far as England go that was such a disappointing half of football. Negative mindset right from the kickoff. I really don't understand why we didn't just carry on pressing and playing our passing game. We aren't good enough to sit back against half decent sides and not concede for 45 minutes.

Another half hour of torture then, the second half was like a mirror image of the first. England look out of touch and out of ideas, they've ALL got a touch of the Raheems as they can't control the ball worth a damn, and now they're just lumping it long for a knock-down, it's the English way

That's it, then. I've enjoyed it, but in the end, England as a country still deserve better than to have only one World Cup final appearance. Hopefully someday, we can field a team good enough to at least get to the final again.

EDIT: To be clear, I'm proud of the team, and this is obviously a major step in the right direction for us. It's just sad to see it end at the semifinal, although it was pretty unlikely England could defend a 1-0 lead for over 85 minutes with injury time. I'm pleased for Croatia, as they've worked hard to get here.

Having said that, I fully expect France to win on Sunday.

They've looked dozy and they got punished. They really did look better in the first half but from the second half onwards they've been second best, the class and composure of Croatia has told and I'm glad they're playing France because they will give them a sterner test than England.

Unlucky lads, this was a bridge too far etc etc. Heck of it is, I feel like a weight has been lifted because this has been excruciating to watch.

I don't think England can complain. Just needed to be brave in the second half and carry on playing. Instead, it was backwards and sideways passes galore. I don't know why they persist in doing that when every time they try it, we concede...
