I have my doubts, but I would love to see the X800 and X1000 get DV when the flat panels do. At $299, the X800 with DV would pretty much kick most players in the teeth for normal usage. Plus they are great streamers for Netflix and Amazon.

I think if they choose not to it's a bit odd for two reasons. One, why sell flagship displays with DV when you can't bundle your player with, or you can, but it is deficient. Two, usually something like the X1000 has a 2 year lifespan, so do you replace it next year with one that does DV? I ASSumed all along Sony skipped releasing a player last year waiting on the MediaTek SoC for DV. But, we all know what ASSuming does.

Sony XBR-75X940E 75inch, DV at JoeSav is $2700.
Would that be consider affordable for the Working Class. Cource x800 with DV FW at $299 would be affordable for them. Sony 55X930E with Dolby Vision capable being currently sold for $1600. Would'nt that look proper with x800 with DV hooked up. Think many many peoples can afford that Combo. Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 06-17-2017 at 07:33 PM. Reason: Completing post |

Afraid he doesn't understand the difference between a authorized online dealer and eBay like grey marketeer. Example Sony 55X930E it goes for most authorized online dealers for $1999, and JoeSav $1630. Problem with unauthorized dealers is you don't know what you are really buying, damaged, a return, factory refurbished b-stock, from a another country, not USA certified/licensed.
If you can't find on https://www.sony.com/retailers stay away from the dealer. |

You are 100% correct, Sony, LG and Samsung list 100% of every single authorized retailer regardless how how small or if they buy through distribution. All authorized dealers are listed and if they are not listed they are not authorized to sell the product.
I don't have any first hand info, but from what I'm told they say "the one advertised has the Chinese panel, if you want the good one it's XXX dollars more." After that trick the aggressive after sell starts. Last edited by Robert Zohn; 06-17-2017 at 08:48 PM. |

Ive seen it on my OLED, nothing really impressive at this point IMO. I've seen a lot of "colors pop more" comments recently and such, makes me think the display you are using isnt cal'd properly, or the colors are just too saturated, but hey, whatever makes everyone happy.

I have first hand experience with JoeSav. Their tactic is to bait you into a very low price that is unbelievably great and then once you place an order you'll get a call within 24-48 hours that to let you know this model is on a backorder but they can upgrade you to another one that is ready to ship at the same price that every competitor has. If you say no they will downsell the heck out of the model you bought telling you its a Chinese 8 bit panel and inferior to the regular made model (Basically just BS) and either you agree to get the regular price model or they'll tell you that there is a delay and your model will come in within 4-6 weeks. They'll call again later to see if you ready to get a regular model and try to throw in something for free like HDMI cable or give you free shipping for regular model. It's a typical bait and switch to a model everyone sells anyway and they are still unauthorized to begin with. However good news is that if you buy your TV today you can use joesav price with Citibank to match. Did that with my Samsung 850D and 900E and saved hundreds. Just use Citibank credit card

Really thought the Dolby vision patch would come today since Sony released their first Dolby Vision disc.
