Default Best PQ on 4K UHD Disk Out?

I am wondering in your opinion which movie has the best PQ and HDR. I currently have Martian, Life of Pi, Sicario, Pineapple Express, Watchmen, and both Star Treks. Quality on Martian, Life of Pi, and the Into the darkness are fantastic.

Looking for other good examples of 4K transfers that I may be missing out on. Open to any suggestions.

The Divergent Series: Allegiant is best movie 4K UltraHD pure HDR.

There UHD 4K movies damaged HDR.

Revenant is very foolish you. It's green teal picture look richer.

The IMAX scenes on Star Trek Into Darkness are the best I've seen from UHD discs. Of the other ones I own, I think The Martian is the one that's the most consistently impressive.

>a bunch of shitty upscaled movies have the best picture quality

Now I've heard everything. You people are the reason why they keep getting away with spoonfeeding us garbage quality, again and again.

Anyways OP, it's obviously The Smurfs 2 as that is the only one that was filmed and digitally mastered in 4K through its entire process. Shitty movie, amazing PQ.

Duh! Look at the spec sheet, not the screen.

So far the best I have seen is Star Trek Into the Darkness those Imax scenes are awesome. I plan on watching Watchmen, Man of Steel and Batman VS Superman this weekend so maybe that will change.

Watchmen is pretty good, just watched it the other night. PQ seemed to be very good and the colors pop a lot more than the blu with the HDR.

BvS was also great PQ but another dark movie.

Both movies have heavy grain which screws with the PQ IMO

The best UHD Blu rays I've seen are The Revenant, Chappie,Sicario and if I have to choose a 2K upscale that would be Star Trek Into Darkness.

I don't have any 4K equipment yet but I am thinking about upgrading, though I have not made up my mind yet. I do have the Star Trek Into Darkness regular blu and those Imax scenes looks so stunning that I keep telling myself how much better can this look? So my question for those who owns the 4K version: How much better it is? And is it worth the expenses of upgrading my equipment?

The IMAX segments look quite nice in 4K. The rest, not so much. Some segments make you painfully aware that this movie was in fact upscaled, which is frustrating when we know they could do better if they'd invest in it.

OTOH, the HDR in both this and Star Trek (2009) is a worthy upgrade. Just don't expect the non-IMAX segments to look jaw dropping and you will be good to go.

So we're supposed to like Hancock because it was a 4K master? It's the worst one I've seen to date! This is an opinion thread, don't be a mean.

If only I enjoyed the revenant, I heard the HDR and 4k is fantastic on it, just thought the film was boring sadly
