Default Best HDR Demo scenes

So what are your favorite scenes that really show off what HDR is. Mine is the beginning of The Revenant and the Club scene from John Wick.

The final set piece in 'Alien: Covenant' for HDR10--and more specifically, the sheer dimension and depth that HDR provides on an OLED panel.

And then the final set piece in 'Spider-Man: Homecoming', for showcasing Dolby Vision on an actual disc, and the amount of detail you can make out in bright highlights and darker shadows.

There's a ton of reference-worthy moments with the format already, but those two really stand out.

All of Pacific Rim obviously, but specifically the post Hong Kong battle scavenger scene with Ron Perlman and Charlie Day, some incredible depth for such a dark scene.

The nighttime battle scenes in Starship Troopers also look incredible in much the same way, the spaceship sequences look fantastic as well.

The final showdown at JF Sebastian's apartment in Blade Runner is also stunning, along with all the miniature shots (4K+HDR seems to be really kind to miniature effects, which just makes me love them even more).

The Doomsday sequence from Batman v Superman. It's the scene that made ME understand what 4K and HDR can do.

Came here to say pretty much exactly this! Also agree with Pacific Rim.

Also, off the top of my head:

The fight in the stained glass tower at the end of The Great Wall

Most of The Mummy '99 for what it can do for older movies

The ends of Unforgiven or Zero Dark Thirty for what it can do for dark scenes

Pretty much all of X-Men Apocalypse

The Mirror scene in John Wick 2 was one of the first ones I thought of too. I would also say the big New York ghost battle in the new Ghostbusters movie is a stunner for the colours alone.

I haven't seen it on another platform yet, and I'm still beginning to understand (appreciate) the HDR, but I was really impressed with Lego Batman.

The colors and detail in the Phantom Zone, as well as the texture on Batman's mask when he leaned forward.

Planet Earth II. Like, all of it.

Single scene -- maybe not the best but off the top of my head, the climax of Wonder Woman.

Good call I think that would probably be in my top five for PQ on UHDs.

Dark Tower has the best PQ and HDR I have seen yet. The scenes in NYC are just spectacular. 3 dimensionsal. No comment on the movie.

Ha yeah i think I'm going to buy it because I'm such a fan of the books but then I almost think that's a reason not to buy it! My curiosity is going to get the better of me I think.

Wait for a sale. I’m happy with the buy because the PQ and AQ are that good. Not trying to gush over it but I can’t believe how great it looks. Detail, HDR and WCG is best I’ve seen. Even my wife commented.

Forgive my ignorance, how can you tell when an HDR scene occurs in a movie? I’ve been wondering since I have upgraded to 4k and hearing comments about particular scenes. Now is as good as time as any to ask I guess haha.

If you're watching something and you have to squint, that's generally a good sign.

It's hard to pick a favorite, so my top 5 is:
Logan-night fight between X-24 and Logan
Alien: Covenant-the crew lands on "Planet 4"
Guardians Vol. 2 (tie)-opening Mr. Blue Sky scene and Southern Nights scene (Rocket in the forest)
Kong: Skull Island-helicopters vs. Kong
Mad Max: Fury Road-all of it
