Guess I lucked out and got the Punisher UK Steelbook for about $20 because it's OOP now.

I assume this one has DTS-HD MA as well?

I don't see any TT vs European editions comparisons here, and I'm always curious.

Films like eg. The Way We Were, Oliver, Philadelphia etc.

It certainly is, by me directly from the disc. I got it early:

You misunderstood me Mike. I wasn't wanting to know anything about the disc, I do infact own it myself. All I was asking, is that from my observation the UK version seems like it may also be out of print, and that perhaps a UK member could confirm if this is indeed the case?

The list mentions noththing so I assume that none of these expensive Punisher imports contain the extended edition, yes? For me, this is one film where the theatrical is way inferior to the extended, which is why I still have the DVD. Also, no list copies are marked best PQ or AQ, so what’s the attraction?

The release in October from Zavvi slipped straight past me. Cheers. Though it also appears to be OOP, or is it just sold out at the moment, with stock expected to be replenished?

Great. The Italian BD is now obsolete. I'm glad i waited for a version with lossless audio. I just pre-ordered it.

I just watched the extended cut DVD yesterday, it's why I came in here asking about a blu-ray. I noticed two things. One, the DVD really has a terrible transfer. two, the extended cut isn't as good as I remember. They add in a whole subplot that honestly drags it down. It doesn't work without that early sequence and since they didn't film it I don't even really buy them as friends.

Yep, the theatrical cut is by far superior.

Well, each to their own, but the Punisher thread has had other posters who won't buy the theatrical either. However, to be honest, I haven't seen the theatrical in years. I assume I saw it on HBO or whatever and didn't like it as much. Like others, I've been holding out for a BD release which has both versions - but it still ain't happened ...

I hope the DE disc of A Good Year is region free. That's one that I've wanted on BD for quite some time now.

Japanese Bridge on the River Kwai looks good on specs even if US is 24-bit audio. This is probably a JP mastered in 4k release with highest bitrate like Lawrence of Arabia unlike the rest of the world

AVC 30926 kbps
English DTS-HD MA 5.1 2111 kbps 16-bit
Eng subs
No word on extras but as the rest 4k discs focus is PQ/AQ

So it's identical to the H.K. disc then.
