As per the norm of discussion, of course this can be the case. Looking at the screenshot comparisons, though, it doesn't seem to be. More fine detail can be seen on the JP disc. It doesn't look like it has compression problems from those at least.

After many years of lacklustre BDs here in Sweden it seems to look brighter if you go by some of the recent discs from Norway and if you don't need/want eng subs. Usually handled by the same company all over Scandinavia.

The German Henry V Bluray , seems to be much better than the US one:

Can't find a thread for this, so ...
1) Is it a DigiBook? Picture looks like one but it may be a pic of the "deluxe" edition. ![]() 2) Is there a better overseas version? ![]() https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-D...Blu-ray/86685/ |

Do you know if the Prestige is a major step up? I know the current easily available (cheap) releases all seem to have their own issues with the PQ. |

I can see tech-uk owns a copy, hopefully he will see this and post a reply. If not I'll drop him a pm to confirm the AQ specs English: Dolby TrueHD 5.1 (48kHz, 16-bit) and see what he says regarding the PQ as well.

![]() As per my review, the PQ difference is slight, better compression over the UK release and US release, and thus grain is preserved better and slight increase in detail, not by much though. One scene that featured banding on the UK release, isn't as bad on the JP release, still there, but toned down. The AQ, both the TrueHD and LPCM 5.1, 48kHz @ 16-bit soundtracks are superb, and better than the UK releases lossy DD track. Although if you are region free and already have the US release I would only purchase the JP based off the higher video bitrate. But the JP disc is superior than the UK disc. ![]() Here is a comparison between the UK (same as the DE release) and US releases: http://www.caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergl...less=1#auswahl |
