No real detail lost either since Shouts in a brand new scan and therefore less heavy grain. But I can understand that some like the darker look of the older scan. |

I just watched Bone Tomahawk - UK disc - and couldn't believe how bad the PQ was. Especially given the 4.5/5 score for PQ on this site's review
![]() OK bad might be exaggerating a tad but it isn't good. Greyish blacks, soft as hell, almost DVD-like in some scenes. Even the bright desert scenes just don't look anywhere near as good as they do in other blu-rays. For instance - I saw 13 Hours not long ago and that looked pretty near reference. I know Bone Tomahawk is a micro budget film but even so.. |

JP: AVC 28072 kbps, English DTS-HD MA 5.1 3274 kbps, English subs, Region A UK: AVC 34789 kbps, English LPCM 2.0 2304 kbps, English DTS-HD MA 4.0 4-track stereo 2906kbps, English Subs, Region B locked Best PQ/AQ FR: AVC 24958 kbps 24fps old master, English DTS-HD MA 5.1 1961 kbps, No English subs, Region Free US: AVC, English DTS-HD MA 5.1/2.0, English subs, Region AB The FR disc uses an older master. I have the JP disc and I compared to the Arrow shots and they are identical as far as transfers. The compression is good on the Fox disc but I do see *slightly more film grain on the UK release. The Fox source is supposidely a 4K remaster but Shout seemed to have tinkered with it heavily. The US one is brighter, has cooler colors and seems to have some DNR though compared to UK/JP.
