Hellraiser Bloodline AU disc is most certainly NOT the best PQ. In fact it's absolute garbage, riddled with film artefacts, an excessively dark grading and missing a lot of fine detail compared to the US disc. It's apparently transferred from a theatrical film print, as it also has visible reel change markers.

I zoomed every cap back when they were posted. In about 3/4 of them the DE disc looks better overall. Yes, the US disc does look slightly better in the frame you are referencing. Honestly, the difference is marginal either way.

IMO the US copy is digitally processed and has some edge enhancement.

The Aussie disc, while flawed, is a more natural, filmic looking disc altogether.

Been a member here for nearly a decade. Never once looked at or needed this thread, but the Region B-locked Blu-ray of THREADS: Remastered was the final push to make me buy a mod kit for my Oppo 203 (en route to me as we speak). Many thanks for the years of work you've committed to this, HD Goofnut; it came in very helpful for me today and I've spent a lot of time swimming around in it.

Yeah film as in 35mm projection reels, including a ton of dirt and grit all over the place. There's one scene towards the end where Merchant had a big brown splotch across half of his forehead I'll take a bit of EE on an interpositive sourced transfer any day thanks.
