The US and Canadian releases for Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers, Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later, Halloween: Resurrection and the UK release for Return Of The Living Dead are now OOP.
Also, the Australian release for the 1990 NOTLD is still in print. Last edited by Mikezilla3k; 06-29-2020 at 12:49 AM. |

I recently rewatched the US blu-ray of Give ‘Em Hell Malone with Tom Jane. It had a lot of issues with PQ. I see a German import among others. Has anyone had the opportunity the view any of the imports to see if they included a better transfer?

Come and See's US BD release has come out. The transfer is similar to the FR BD, but with EE and black crush.

![]() ![]() The German release of MAJOR DUNDEE blows all others away in terms of exclusive extras. What really makes it essential is the new audio commentary by Glen Erickson that puts all of the pieces together of the deleted and unfilmed scenes. Erickson goes back to multiple sources, earlier screenplays, the novelization, etc. to lay out Peckinpah's original concept and to plug the many plot holes that were apparent even in the international cut. He also provides commentary for the incomplete deleted scenes. I have seen MAJOR DUNDEE many times over the years and enjoyed it greatly, but now I feel like I truly understand it. The commentary is presented in English with removable German titles. Peckinpah enthusiast Mike Siegel has provided some great and rare stills for the digibook. The text component for the digibook is by Erickson, translated into German. Most of this is already covered in the commentary, and Erickson has made the English text available through his website. Siegel also includes the MAJOR DUNDEE section from his Peckinpah documentary PASSION AND POETRY. This was missing from the Twilight Time disc, and the version presented here is longer than the one presented on the extended cut DVD. The only drawback for Englsih-only speakers is that the interviews with Senta Berger and Mario Adorf are presented in German with no English subtitles. All of the other interviews are in English. There's a different version of the home video short "Riding For a Fall" also on the DVD but not on the TT Blu-Ray. In color this time, but it still looks like shit. Picture-wise, I think it is comparable to the TT Blu-Ray, I don't feel qualified to discuss differences in color, etc. The disc is labeled Region B, but played fine on two of my region A players. This is it! The Holy Grail! Lovingly made by Peckinpah enthusiasts for Peckinpah enthusiasts! Limited to 2000 copies, so don't hesitate. |
