I recently picked up the MI4K Hancock from Japan and was sad to see the black crush. I always consult the list before a purchase and didn't see it so I assume that it was equal or better to the US release. I saw that it was in the list at one point, but removed after being made aware of the black crush. I know it's my fault for not searching, but usually scan the main post for any issues.

On a related note, the MX editions of both the Interview and Fury use the international encode without black crush.

I appreciate your suggestion, but if a release has an issue with the PQ or AQ then it is more than likely not in the list. An example of one in the list, which is noted, would be The Deer Hunter as the SC disc has pitch issues with the 5.1 track, but the stereo track is intact.

As far as I can tell, the only additional extra on the US BD is the 1080p "Parody Poster Gallery".

I received the Japanese BD today. Surprisingly, it is a solid improvement over the UK BD which, in and of itself, was near perfect. The disc has been given an encode with MGVC technology like the Japanese Studio Ghibli BDs, and the result that colors are slightly more vivid, and depth is quite a bit greater. The difference is actually far greater than I was anticipating it would be, and clearly, the Japanese BD is the one to own.
