Seems like the JP discs of I Frankenstein and Trancsendence will have Dolby Atmos meaning a new/better audio track as base (Dolby True HD 7.1).

Atmos doesn't mean 7.1. The bed could easily be TrueHD 5.1.

EDIT: Never mind, I am mis-remembering something else.

From what Dolby's told me for Atmos decoders the object base starts at 7.1 on the home version.

Yeah seen like 7 Atmos discs so far and they are all 7.1 base so I'm pretty sure they always start there.

I'm looking to add some of the older JCVD movies to my collection and wondered if I can get some input as to the best releases to grab. I'm looking to add the ones below but if better can be had else where around the globe please let me know

Cyborg - MGM - US release
Death Warrant - MGM - US release
Double Impact - MGM - US release
Kickboxer - Splendid Entertainment - DE release
Maximum Risk - Sony Pictures - US release
No Where To Run - Sony Pictures - DE release
The Quest - Universal Studios - US release

E2A

I'd also like to pick up No Retreat, No Surrender but can't find out which is the best current release available or are they all just using the same transfer?
Looks to be correct from my mind.

But the US release of "Nowhere to Run" has lossless 2.0 audio. Videowise the differences are very small (almost indistinguishable).
It comes down to your preference.

From "No Retreat, No Surrender" there's a AU and Nordic release AFAIK, but I don't know how the Nordic release compares to the Australian disc.

Avoid Nordic No retreat since you loose lossless audio on that Otherwise it looks correct.

Don't forget Lionheart is out in US also but for now only in boxset

I'm waiting for Lionheart to be released separately, as we are talking about the US boxset can we assume despite the different site reviews UK vs US that they will be using the same transfer?

Is the AU release of NR,NS with picking up as all the online reviews seem extremely mixed.

Most probably same yes.

NR, NS there isn't much choice. If you want/need it it's the AU disc to go for but it looks worse than all other JC movies lately. No good master there to work with as the others.

Slightly disappointing to hear but not surprising

What is your take on the current available releases of Bloodsport? Should all the be same? Is one release better than the others available as there seems to be a larger amount of releases available for this title.

I know no one has a crystal ball but i'm assuming that none of the companies like Twilight Time, Arrow or Shout! for instance would want to get their hands on this and the chances of seeing any of these making it into the 4K will be slight.

All atmos tracks I've seen so far have been 7.1.4(stated on the back cover of both Transformers AOE and Ninja Turtles), so unless they announce a different one I'll assume the bese is 7.1.4.

I know in the US it just lists it as "Dolby Atmos" but in most European counties they list the channels as well, an it says 7.1.4. Sorry I don't have a picture right now.
Here's a sort of review of the czech release of Ninja Turtles that mentions it.

Updated Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. The ES disc is definitely the one to get for PQ if you don't want to deal with the forced French subs from the FR disc. Too bad it's region B locked.
