How does the German release compare to the Korean one? The Korean screenshots look considerably brighter, more clear, and likely more accurate than the UK release, but it definitely looks like sharpening and/or edge enhancement was used. If you have a German vs. Korean comparison link, I'd love to see it.

The DE disc has much better compression.

Color- and clarity-wise, I'm guessing it looks like the Korean release? If so, I'll eventually pick it up.

Just an update/question about this entry:

Quote:
Conan the Barbarian (1982)
US - AVC 31971 kbpos, DTS-HD MA 5.1 3832 kbps 24-bit, 129 min International Cut, missing 14 minute featurette, English subs (Region free)
DE - AVC 15990 kbps, DTS-HD MA 5.1 2066 kbps 16-bit, 129 min International Cut, missing 14 minute featurette, no English subs (Region free)
UK/HK/FR - AVC 25201 kbps, DTS-HD MA 5.1 3755 kbps 24-bit, 131 min Extended International Cut, all extras, English subs (Region free)
FR (Steelbook Re-release with Conan the Destroyer) - AVC, DTS-HD MA 5.1, 131 min Extended International cut, correct audio and color timing, extras, no English subs (Region free) Best PQ/AQ
i wrote this in the relevant thread too but according to this:
http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparison....php?fid=18450

Quote:
The Australian release, the French Conan - L'integrale de la Saga Steelbook release, and the Italian re-issue release have the uncut release with the original mono track and the corrected audio and video.
But I don't know if it's confirmed by anyone else here.

So I'm confused now. Is the USA BD the Original USA Theatrical cut or a different version?

In the thread of BDs missing extras there's this entry:
Quote:
Conan the Barbarian
1998 DVD - Theatrical Cut of Film
2000 DVD - 129 Minute International Version which has a few extra scenes and a few extra missing score cues.

I think the US bluray is missing the Moby Dick scene, but STILL it's not the original USA theatrical cut.

This is correct. Until someone confirms I am going to say that the FR steelbook is still the only complete package.

Is it the extended international cut? Also, is it region free?

According to this site, yes.

(you also do the trick with regions to choose the uncut version)

Updated Le Samourai. The new JP disc has about the same PQ as the FR re-release and is region A friendly, but it lacks English subs.
