It's marginal, but the DE re-release has slightly better compression. Would I import it I had the U.S. keepsake edition already? No.

Why is there no listing for "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner"? If I've got this right, the US TT version is mono audio 1.0 (), whereas the German version is 5.0 and the Japanese version is 5.1. Is there no actual difference? Is the PQ the same? Does anyone who has an import version care to comment?

P.S. Is the German “Book of Eli” worth upgrading the US version? Likewise, the German “Aeon Flux”?

And I'm not used to seeing 5.0 vs. 5.1 - but that's how BRDC lists them, despite both being Sony. Repurposing to 5.1 is not unheard of, or necessarily a bad thing. In fact, I'm ordering "Judgment At Nuremberg" while it's on sale because the TT disc got a good review of it's repurposed 5.1 mix. Alas, because of my amp, apparently, I can't order over a dozen others because TT is fond of mono 1.0, which my Sony misfires on.

Thanks for the word on the other two. I've never owned Aeon Flux, and I know it's low-rated, but I remember it as a "guilty pleasure" from, probably, the DVD/VHS days.

That one is very confusing, both german and HK disc only have english audio as "original" but imdb says english and cantonese. I always thought cantonese was main and some english lines spoken like the usual HK movie. So is the cantonese english subbed on german disc

Here's info for Infernal Affairs trilogy you need to add/update including info for the UK releases which are only available in the Infernal Affairs Trilogy, which seems to have all 3 films in one keep case & is region locked.

So your receiver botches 1.0?

Yeah, I have the DE steelbook of Book of Eli and compression is much better. I saw the caps for Aeon Flux and it looks much more like film that the U.S. disc.

Yeah, it only plays the center speaker on 1.0 - and there is no adjustment possible. This being so, I just ordered 7 TT BDs from Screen Archives - including two mono 1.0's, figuring I'll just sell 'em if they come up lame.

Your receiver doesn't have a Full Mono setting? This is what I play mono tracks on.

No, I'll never get another Sony amp. Last time I posted about it was to knock the sound on Point Blank (1.0). I thought I was clear that I was dumping on 1.0 and my amp, but, as usual, I got hammered by fans. We got it straightened out and everybody was mellowed - except for the reviewer who felt I'd criticized his review rating and wouldn't let me off the hook, even though we used to be tight. I used to be a big fan of Sony, barf .

curiosity: i frankly can't see any differences between Criterion and Koch releases of Blow Out even if Koch BD has higher bitrate. so why the latter has been marked with "best PQ"???
