Battlefield Earth DE info shows aspect ratio of 1.77 with OAR of 2.39. Anyone know if this is cropped or the matte is opened?
Same question for The Englishman who went up a hill but came down a mountain. There's also a Spanish release of this now that shows its released in its OAR 2.39 https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-E...Blu-ray/63840/ Last edited by infiniteCR; 08-16-2016 at 08:04 PM. |

Just received my copy of the Japanese blu-ray of Species (1995).
Looks way, way better in motion than the US disc (thanks to it being encoded in AVC as opposed to the US disc's MPEG-2 encoding) and has a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track rather than 5.1 PCM. I'm sure this is more or less a Region A locked version of the UK disc and still sports a rather dated transfer, but overall it is a superior release and is consistent in quality with Scream Factory's AVC encoded blu-rays of the sequels. |

From looking at the screen caps on this site, the Shout! release looks to have more grain along with more detail and looks slightly more red in colour. |

I understand City of the Living Dead from Arrow (UK) has significantly better/more bonus features vs the one from Blue Underground (US), but also has worse PQ/AQ. But how significant is the technical improvement from the US version? I'm debating which version to get. If the US version is like WAY better technically, I'd rather that than the bonus features of the UK edition. But if the difference isn't THAT big then I'd rather get the extras of the UK edition.
