No idea, but if the source is the same the AVC encode should look better.

Is this the BHD BD you're referring to, HD? My Japanese isn't very good, but your list says extended and this says 145 min, not 152 (IMDb). Both Amazon and IMDb are sometimes wrong, so ... but that's the only one I found? Is there a newer/different one?

Japanese prices rarely drop.. They do have sales eventually but they are usually only like 20% at most. Not sure why they do it but they don't deviate much from the MSRP except for those occasional sales. They will release a new edition/EAN with a lower MSRP rather than discount the existing disc.
