$77.42 for that and Dredd! Why can’t I win the lottery, just once? Oh, and throw in another $37 for Heat (the new 2-disc “definitive edition” which doesn’t come out until March 3). Hell, only $114.22 shipped to upgrade 3 movies I already own …
Maybe. I am going to watch it. I have gotten cheap JP discs in the past such as Groundhog Day, The Green Mile, and Night of the Living Dead.

I bought the FR metalpack of Dredd several months ago and it was $30 shipped so you might want to check Amazon France for that one. It's the same PQ as the JP disc, but the AQ is better on the JP disc.

I feel ya, also waiting for cheaper JP Dredd and Black Hawk Hopefully UHD can bring blu-ray prices down a notch even there but you never know.

Does anyone know if the German Blu-ray has the 9 seconds of cuts like the UK version?
I would like to know that as well. Or any info on the French release. I am just looking for an uncut version with lossless audio. It also should probably be noted on the front page that the UK is cut. It has been a while since I have seen it; are there foreign language portions that need to be subtitled? I would think there would be some Russian.

I know this is likely humor but the new Heat is available for $13.69 USD shipped from amazon.de.

Just checked out PQ differences for Black Hawk Down at caps-a-holic.

Geez ......tough to see a clear difference in the stills between US and JP.

http://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?a=1&d1...=1&x=739&y=259

Am I right in assuming it will look better in motion when being watched?

You seem confident regarding improved AQ as well.

Just out of interests sake.........do you make your judgements based on specs, actual viewing, other posts/sites or a combo?

Anyway.......I (and I'm sure many others) are very glad that you go to so much trouble!!!

As I am a stickler for having best available versions..........your list is absolute GOLD!!!!

Also......For anyone interested.....there's a few best version titles on sale at CDJapan right now..........

Coming to America...US$ 9.53
District 9.................US$ 9.53.....US$11.84 for Limited Edition
Green Mile...............US$ 9.53
Groundhog Day........US$10.30
Lawrence of Arabia...US$10.30
Untouchables...........US$ 9.53
Last Samurai...........US$11.84
xXx........................US$ 9.53

NOTE.......looks like the Japanese reign of Jerry Maguire is over too!!!!

It's a marginal improvement in grain and fine detail. The real reason for the double dip is the extended cut with the full set of extras.

I don't put a Best AQ tag on a certain release unless I know for certain it is the best. The same goes for PQ. That either happens through my own experience or one of the trusted members here.

Also, the JP release of The Last Samurai is the same as the US with the lossy audio. To get the lossless audio you have to get it from HK, KO, or PL.

Thanks for the reply and correcting my error.

Memory is on the way out!!!.....
I bought the lossless version from HK for a mate a few years ago!!!

Keep up the good work.

Hope when the time comes that you think Jerry Maguire 20th Anniversary release is as good as the early indications appear!!!!

Great work, but I'd hold off on 'xXx" as a new AVC 15th Ann. edition is coming out in 5 days (currently $13.59). *fingerscrossed*

Not yet. I would assume it's region A locked until someone can confirm otherwise.

Default The List Got Me Again! :)

Wow, HD, ya really gotta wonder what the hell has happened to CD Japan. They wanted $95.14 for Dredd & the Black Hawk Downbox (shipped Air 5-12 days) - Amazon.jp wanted $78.80. I then added in a Japanese Dylan CD (my box set Remaster vanished and the US standard sucks). Amazon charged me $97.43 (5-6 days), whereas CDJ wanted $114.98 (5-12 days)! I know they give points, but I don’t think they cover that big a spread.

Couldn’t wait on Black Hawk Down. It’s an Amazon exclusive not currently scheduled for US release and when the BRDC page said it was only available used via the marketplace (not true, mine is new from Amazon), I figured it might be now or never. Hey, what’s so great about 3 squares? I need to lose weight anyway.
